The main thing ive noticed over the years with the first day of the season is the fitness levels, players seem to just slot back into it. 25 years plus ago you would see players overweight and be really rubbish on the first day, the first episode of MOTD was like a comedy it would take a couple of weeks before the quality came through

awful goal to conceed by bournemouth!

Terrible back pass, then when the keeper saves he plays it once again into the path of mata!

shocking.

The ones I am watching did say it though, they said he only went down because he thought he would be tripped.

If it was a dive then why wasn't he booked?

If the ref suspects a dive he should book him, no action suggests he's gutless.

That was a clear dive.

However I am more concerned as to what Phil Jones has done to his barnet.
Looks hideous

Jose Mourinho has never lost an opening game at the start of a season in his managerial career

It should be an exciting game I think, as Arsenal don't really have any decent centre backs playing today, and Liverpool don't have an out and out goalscorer!

Something has to give!

Arsenal playing with 2 holding midfielders, and Liverpool going all out attack. Will be interesting to see how well Arsenal break on the counter.
