Cant disagree with that

Every time there's a corner , there could be a penalty

With Mike Dean yeah.

The comms are getting carried away with the discussion. There's already plenty of evidence to suggest most sensible refs are not going to be pointing to the spot with the same frequency as Dean.

And therein lies the problem

Mike Dean interpreting the rules one way and other refs interpreting it another

He'll reign it in pretty quickly due to pressure and spotlight. But Mike Dean has been getting away with bad decisions for years. The betting odds on penalties in his games are always shorter and have been for a couple of years. He loves giving soft pens while turning down absolute stonewallers. We've already seen 3 examples of it in one game. The bookies are very wary of him and for good reason,

4-1 flatters City a little bit, but those 2 Nolito goals were very well taken. Intelligent dummy from Ihenacho to set up the fourth at the end there.

Have Stoke really kicked on since Pulis left?

Don't really see it tbh.

As an all-round package, City look the most cohesive and balanced side I've seen so far - look tighter at the back and have both pace and goals up front. Probably meed a better central midfielder but looking very good already. The Manchester derby in early September should be a very interesting watch.

That's the thing - they haven't really kicked anything since Pulis left. Hughes appears to be able to spot and attract players but not convinced he's actually that good a coach or tactician.

Gundogan's fitness imperative then?

Mike Dean in "look at me" shocker...

That penalty Stoke got was a nonsense of a decision, especially considering the one that he didn't give them in the first half.

Yes, but I think he was right with his two decisions about grappling/shirt pulling in the box. It's something that most football fans are fed up with seeing.
I'm with the pundits on this one, and hope all referees will follow the guidelines and punish these irritating offences. The game will be better for it in the end. My only worry is that it doesn't sound like they will be enforcing the laws around the rest of Europe, so I guess that means it will be back to "anything goes" when we play in Europe ?

Yes, but ignoring the blatant penalty he didn't give, I thought it was a perfect illustration of the kind of offence they are presumably trying to punish. In the video replay you could see Sterling was making no attempt whatsoever to play the ball, he didn't even know where the ball was !

Strange post.

You think FMKK is an Arsenal, Chelsea or City fan based on a post they make, and it's Liverpool fans who have the "irrational" hatred?

It's just a football rivalry. The two clubs are huge rivals, and it's not like it's a one-way rivalry with just Liverpool fans hating Man United, is it?

Forget the numerous league titles and two champions league medals. Pep has won away at stoke, the people of England can finally take him seriously.

That 'can he do it on a cold, wet night in Stoke' thing was said about Messi, not Pep.

Whoever came out with that has probably changed it to West Brom now as Pulis is there.

I'm not really sure what fans' problems are with all these penalties being given. As long as the referees do it fairly, and apply new penalty rules fairly to both sides, it's absolutely fine. Just means we might get a couple more goals in each game which can't be a bad thing!

Watford 1-0 Chelsea

Burnley 2-0 Liverpool

Some shockers today!

I've just read this online.

This BT Score thing is a car crash. Harry Redknapp forgets he's not doing Soccer Saturday and shouts "We should have a penalty over here Jeff" at Mark Pougatch

Brilliant

BT just can't compete with Soccer Saturday.

Half time in this Leicester-Arsenal game so far. Been a bit of a damp squib in truth.

Main talking point being that Leicester should have had a penalty that wasn't given. Stone waller if you ask me.
