One of my best mates took both Van Aanholt AND Mikhail Antonio out of his team this week, I can't wait to brag my ass off.

The West Ham was boring as hell though, and I don't particularly like the new stadium either.

Last week I benched Foster and played Heaton, I'm sure you can guess what happened this week...

Meanwhile, I've had an absolute nightmare. Not a single goalscorer, assist-er or clean sheet for my team this week. I've had a shocker.

Don't like the green perimeter at the London Stadium. Not sure they will be getting 60K fans there either. Increasing to 66K capacity next season apparently.

Oh wow - I've seen it all now.

Anyone who just watched the closing stages of Atletico Madrid's game will know what I'm talking about.

Unbelievable!

Nothing to do with you, but calling it the London stadium rather than the Olympic stadium does sound rather strange.

Seems they could be as inconsistent as they were last season. Wonder if klopp will be sacked if he has a poor season

Just been handed a 6 year deal which is always a risk!

Even more so with the reported take over from China...

I don't always agree with you but tbf you were right about Hogdson so we'll see if you're proved right about Klopp as well.

If its true that pep decided on day one hart would be surplus to requirements then that is very harsh, he's made his mind up without even giving him a chance. Im sure there will be plenty of clubs who will have him.

He did the same at Barca with Deco and Ronaldinho. I expected him to cut more from the squad actually.

Rough on Hart that this came when his stock is at an all time low.

Did he say hodgson was rubbish? If so, then I think pretty much everyone knew that.

Liverpool fans were saying Hodgson was rubbish years ago while others were saying we were being too mean to him. Saying Hodgson will fail is hardly a revelation.

Saying Klopp is "very average" results in pelters for a reason.

What Klopp did in Germany already puts him above very average - like in Germany, he needs time to set the foundations. I do however think his methods are more about mentality and motivation than tactical genius hence why he needs a little longer to get a team of players who buy into his way of doing things.

As for using predicting Hodgson's failure as any kind of yardstick for soothsaying, you obviously haven't read codeblue's mammoth back catalogue of blue-tinted comedy gold over the years.

Deco and ronaldhino was down to attitude and application. That barca dressing room was a mess towards the end of rijkarrd's time.

Pep had to remove the bad apples and deco and ronaldhino where two of the worst.

Regarding Hart, thing is as soon as pep was announced ad city manager people said that hart would be under serious pressure as his distribution isn't good enough.

Shouldn't be really that much of a surprise. Everybody knows what pep likes in a keeper.

The difference in reaction between Guardiola dropping Hart and Mourinho dropping Schweinsteiger is interesting.

Now I don't know whether this is still the case or true originally but if so then probably having him train with the reserves and away for the 1st team completely, coupled with the sort of Stigma Mourinho has attracted this last year or two with the Chelsea situation and the fact that Schweinsteiger seems to be held in very high regards by his football peers.

But yes both are basically managers coming in and deciding they don't want a certain player, but handled slightly differently.

With players like Hart, a new Man City manager can know what his game is before even meeting him so I don't think it's all that harsh for Guardiola to decide he's not going to be his goalkeeper. It's how you carry it out that makes the difference, Steven Pressley had a 'bomb squad' that he made train away from everyone else which seemed silly when he had to backtrack on one or two.

Surprised that John Terry is being speculated as a recall for England

Still one of our best defenders but surely we should be blooding and giving experience to the next generation

Stop being so touchy about man United!

One is a regular, who was a guaranteed pick for club and country for the last 5 years or so and is in his prime in terms of age for players in his position, and the other has been at the club for one year, is coming to the end of his career, was in and out of the match day squad last year, many fans of the club say, thanks but he can move on as he doesn't offer too much on the pitch and has just retired from international football

Looking from the outside there isn't too many differences in terms of treatment though. The players themselves don't really matter, in both cases a new man has come in and told a player he wont be playing and isn't part of his plans for the future. The reaction to Mourinho seemed very OTT to me as managers do this all the time, the OTTness, for want of a better word, is illustrated by the more calm approach to Guardiola's handling of Hart which is seen as being decisive management and in fact Hart seems to be taking more of the blame for not seeing it coming!!

Has Joe Hart been made to train with the kids? (That's what the main issue was with Mourinho and Schweinsteiger wasn't it)?
