I seen it called the EFL Cup recently on Bet365 and thought that was the EPL Cup. Didn't realise the Capital One Cup was no more. That only lasted a year?

With no sponsor then might as well just stick with the League Cup, which is what I refer to it as anyway. I used to call it the Carling Cup until they changed to COC. I can't see "EFL Cup" catching on among football fans.

It's always been 'the' Football League, and 'the' Premier League. It's still 'the' FA. It was the first football league, and the first football association. That's the brand, it doesn't need the 'English' prefix, in my opinion.

West Ham go out of the Europa League at the qualifying stage again, their attitude towards the competition is pathetic.

You have to admit West Ham did have quite a few injuries

All that effort during the season to qualify and then they limp out with a whimper.

Second season in a row is it not that they have somewhat underperformed at this level.

Still I suppose they can always use the old mantra "now we can concentrate on the league", to perhaps requalify for the same stage once again next summer!

The new ground will be their undoing in my opinion. They have gone from a tight awkward place that no one really fancied going to, to the most open stadium in the league that all the bigger clubs will love playing on. They have chucked away a big advantage that they had and I suspect that will be reflected in their results at least to begin with.
