To early to judge. Last year we (man city) won our first 5 games in a row and did not let in one goal. It looked like we could stroll to the league title. Yet from winning 5 in a row at the start we only manged to get two wins in a row again just twice all season, which turned out to be a nightmare season in terms of the league.

We even went to top around mid December but finished way off the top at the end. So I personally think this season could be wide open between a number of teams.

A decent player but surely would have sent out a negative message to our own midfielders here had he been allowed to be selected?

You can't be crap and always get goals.

Not really.. If he is bopping in 25 goals a season then its not really looking like a crap player be any measure of playing crap.

Glad to see everyone happy but on the whole the live games so far outwith Arsenal v Liverpool have been pretty poor and the leading teams seem functional so far.

A lot of defensive games perhaps a hangover from the euros

Certainly cant say Leicester were defensive yesterday, they had 9 players camped out in the Swansea half for large periods of the game.

Just caught up with MOTD

Good to see Shearer and Gullit laughing together when they were discussing what to do with a striker when he's in a barren run

Gullit piped up with "I'd leave him out..."

There is no real link between the Euro's and Premier League games. I'd say Chelsea, City and United have been pretty excellent so far, dont really know where you are coming from there at all.

you wont win.

if every game was a 4-3 they would complain about rubbish defending. if 4 or 5 teams were dominating and beating the rest 4-0 it would be poor quality of the league. If every game was 0-0 or 1-1 it would be awful attacking play.

Some people will always find a reason to criticise no matter what

More inconsistent reffing in the West Brom game

Late tackle on Negredo by Olsen should have been a yellow

followed by a blatant grab of the shirt in the box that the officials somehow don't see

I love watching West Brom play, they're probably the most exciting team in the league.

You can't beat spending a Sunday afternoon watching a Pulis team can you?

They're more attacking than Middlesbrough. Looks like Middlesbrough's tactics this season will be to avoid losing.

Yes, the ambition they're showing against a newly promoted side at home is admirable - wave after wave of beautiful attacking football played by twinkled toed magicians.

I absolutely get the need for safety-first football when hauling a team away from the trap door but to then persist with it as a blueprint is never going to end well - most of the fans will lose patience and demand higher aspirations.

They could play till midnight here and no one would score

Boro are away and newly promoted - totally acceptable to play conservatively and hope to nick something. Apparently West Brom were equally as predictable and pragmatic in the League Cup and look where that got them.

Pulis is a one-dimensional throw-back to the managerial dinosaurs of yesteryear. Or June in England's case...

They weren't much better in the Championship. This is the 'Boro way'.

Well, they appear to be giving it a go in the second half.

I'm pleased I don't have to watch either of these 2 teams every week

Must be frustrating for their supporters

Good posting.

It was an very exciting game at The Hawthorns in front of the highest crowd of the weekend.

I hope all you neutrals appreciated it.

0-0 is actually a brilliant result for me, I have both Foster and Nsue in my Fantasy Football team. Bring in those delicious points.

I think Boro were decent last week against Sunderland despite hanging on a bit towards the end of the game,
