Oh well , I still think it's a bit harsh ... he was being battered all through with no protection and presumably just tried to give the other guy a bit back . I don't think he went out to hurt anyone , he didn't even connect with his elbow it was the back of his wrist that connected with the guy's windpipe . I still think it was reckless behaviour which merited a yellow card ..... never a 3 match ban .
I think it was dangerous behaviour and a 3 match ban would not be along enough. He was lucky it caught the guy's windpipe, it could have been his eyes and could have blinded him. It is about time the FA made more effort to stop elbowing by giving longer bans and maybe players will think twice.

2 Days after the Transfer Window.

And Sunderland, are going to have delve into the pool of unattached players, with Fabio Borini out for 3 months, and Jermaine De Foe there only fit striker, I notice Peter Odimwhingie hasn't got a club.

Also Pickford there only fit Goalie, has a groin issue now

Welsh guy? He is from Acton and has probably never been to wales in his life!

He represented England at under 19s and 21 levels!

Oh is he one of those who played for Wales, because of a grandparent or whatever.

If he has played for England U21, surely he or any other shouldnt be able to change country's.

How long do you guys think Tony Pulis is going to last at West Brom, his future already sounds in doubt

Man City have left Yaya Toure out of their Champions League squad.

Crazy decision, I reckon. Toure is signed on until Summer 2017 so they might as well use him, he's still a top class player and has a lot of Champions League experience.

Pep seems to be losing the plot a bit.

He never appeared for England U-21. Someone's having a bad week, fact-wise.

I'm surprised he didn't go or they didn't let him go to China...

He may have just spent his England U-21 time on the bench.

It's not them deciding that they can't be bothered to use him. They are only allowed 17 non-homegrown players in the Champions League squads and they have 18. Toure is the least necessary of those players so he misses out. It's got nothing to do with Pep losing the plot.

They tried to get rid of him but he didn't want to leave.

Christ, I'm defending City way too much...

A man who is very much abiut the money these days...
Perhaps not playing and making 250k per week was more appealing than having to actually play and make 350k per week in China

I think Guardiola has done a sterling job (no pun intended) at City so far.

He seems to know exactly what his best lineup is and isn't spending tons of time tinkering and trying out different formations.

There still seems to be a bit of bad blood between him and Toure, so I don't think Toure will be playing much this season no matter how hard he tries.

Don't think it's laziness, could just be him not fancying China. He was supposedly keen on Inter before Mancini left, didn't get that so decided to stay.

Drogba only stayed one season there, if Hong Kong was anything to go by I couldnt live there, the way of life there is very different to Europe.

No doubt it's someone else's fault rather than dithering Dave.

How do you know that ? You spoken to him ?
City gave him the contract. If they don't want him they should pay him off.

Yaya Toure:

Yaya Toure (#MCFC): "I'm not surprised that he [Guardiola] has left me out [of the #UCL squad]. I know he has a grudge against Africans."

Playing the race card. Classy. Should be more like the better brother, Kolo. Go eat some cake.

If he really thinks that he should go challenge it, but he won't.

Commonsense has prevailed.

Madness appealing it though by City, there was nothing to appeal, he elbowed him on purpose, I would have loved to have seen their letter to The FA panel about why they thought he should be let off.

Yes, utterly crazy, what were they thinking, it was obvious he did it on purpose. I hate elbowing and would condemn whoever did it.
