Yes, utterly crazy, what were they thinking, it was obvious he did it on purpose. I hate elbowing and would condemn whoever did it.
The appeal cost them nothing. Even if the chances of success was 2% it was still worth doing as no appeal meant no chance. |

Yaya Toure:
Yaya Toure (#MCFC): "I'm not surprised that he [Guardiola] has left me out [of the #UCL squad]. I know he has a grudge against Africans." Playing the race card. Classy. Should be more like the better brother, Kolo. Go eat some cake. If he really thinks that he should go challenge it, but he won't. Quote:
Commonsense has prevailed.
Madness appealing it though by City, there was nothing to appeal, he elbowed him on purpose, I would have loved to have seen their letter to The FA panel about why they thought he should be let off. |

Yeah, unless he has some evidence for that other than just 'I wasn't selected therefore he hates Africans' then it reflects very poorly on him. Although, what else is new.
As has been explained multiple times, City were trying to argue the referee saw it based on the footage which shows the referee was facing the incident. While it was unlikely to be successful, there was something to appeal. . It was all a waste of time and money.

Are City claiming that the referee is lying? I just don't see on what grounds they have to appeal, it was just a blatant attempt to get out of this ban, where he fully deserved a red card. |

That grudge against Africans seems to have missed out Nigerian international Iheanacho.

Just because the referee was facing the incident that doesn't mean he saw it, unless there is new technology which gives what the referee actually saw, then City were basing their appeal on nothing really.

The dictionary definition of the word 'appeal' already had it covered, and luckily without needing dozens of paragraphs or else nobody could lift a copy on their own.

Welsh guy? He is from Acton and has probably never been to wales in his life!
He represented England at under 19s and 21 levels! Pretty sure he played for Wales but it's nothing new if he isn't Welsh .... Sam Alladyce is apparently scouring the Internet for players with English roots ... |

If the referee says that he didn't see it, then where exactly does an appeal come in? Are City claiming that the referee is lying? I just don't see on what grounds they have to appeal, it was just a blatant attempt to get out of this ban, where he fully deserved a red card. They appealed because they could not believe the referee hadn't seen it given his position and clear line of sight. This assertion by the referee was the key reason that led to the retrospective charge and it warranted questioning irrespective of Aguero's guilt as it brings into question the referee's proficiency. If such things aren't challenged the officials have an easy out in such cases but they should also be held to account for their actions - the referee should have seen the incident and sent the player off. In summary, City were right to appeal for the reasons cited and the charge was rightly upheld given the evidence. Both player and official were in the wrong for differing reasons. Now give it a rest. |

Someone quickly predict a team will finish above Man Utd, it'll divert the attention like jingling keys at a toddler.

Rowntree is a fake sports journalist, even his twitter photo is stolen from a stock photo site.
He just makes up controversial stories. |

Apparently scholes has said wilshere should have chosen to play abroad, this coming from someone who spent his entire career at man u. I think jack chose right. The bigger the team the less games he plays and anyone who says its not just about playing but experiencing what its like abroad is talking bollocks. He needs to be playing otherwise he might as well stay put.

Scholes not leaving Man Utd doesn't make him a hypocrite, it's not like he turned down Milan to sign for Sunderland.

I agree with Scholes though, Roma would have been the better option if Arsenal hadn't blocked it as the rumours suggest. |

Selecting Mkhitaryan is a wise move - I think Jose wanted more threat on the break looking at the two changes.
As for the Old Firm, it may be massive in terms of bitterness and intensity but it's way down the list in terms of quality. I'll be switching over at 12:30 to the Manchester derby. |
