Outfought and outplayed by a Stoke side who had pace and power.

Also managed the game well.

We lacked any real threat till the changes were made and left it too late.

Us and Palace are really out of form in the league..

Doesn't bother me either way really. If the search function actually worked on this bloody forum I could easily prove it, but there you go.
How important a goal for you and other Spurs fans is finishing above Arsenal?

To the neutral it could seem quite a symbolic moment for both clubs.

I'm regretting that I didn't record it. Been having trouble sleeping recently and this sounds like a bloody brilliant remedy for that.

What kind of proof would you be offering exactly?

There's nothing wrong with being gutted if your side, after a great season, narrowly miss out on their best chance of a league title in living memory to a side that you've regularly let us know you absolutely hate.

I think Pearson will end up at Derby or Forest in the summer. Or maybe Middlesbrough if Karanka walks.
Karanka would be mad to leave there, as Boro have a good set up going there, and I think he saw the error of his ways in mid-week.

That is such a Villa kind of goal to concede.

Fernandez left all alone by the defence and Guzan making the embarrassing misjudged punch.

No one is buying that
Here you go .. me from January ..

I still think 3rd should be our target as a minimum but I'll obviously gladly take anything above that!

It's one of those things that i've always maintained that their fans actually give it far more credence than ours actually do and they tend to try and credit us with being far more in to the idea than we actually are as well - probably because they need to justify their "day" that they have for it

If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't it doesn't. That's about the extent of how i feel about it

Not sure what that proves? Makes sense you'd see third as a realistic goal earlier in the season given Spurs long history of underachievement.

I can understand a casual fan, the kind who would simply raise a smile if their side won the league, not caring too much. However, any real fan whose side gets into the kind of position Spurs and Leicester find themselves in would be seriously disappointed if they lost out now. Realistically neither side will be favourites to win it again next season or for the foreseeable future - this is a golden opportunity to make history.

No one were expecting Liverpool to compete for the title in 13/14, but you won't find a Liverpool fan who isn't disappointed in the fact that we missed out.

I've been lucky enough to see my side win multiple titles (and also lose out on a number of occasions too ) and I can honestly say every time I had my heart in my mouth, the stress was hellish at times. But that's what you go through as a fan - it feels so good to win because losing feels so bad.

The chance of winning a title, after so many months of hard work, is the pinnacle of achievement for a football club. I can't even begin to imagine how a fan would feel whose side has perennially underachieved and lived for decades in the shadows of their most bitter rivals only to now find themselves in with a chance of making history.

You lot aren't bothered about finishing above us? "Mind the Gap" banners anyone?

At least be honest and admit you'd get a kick out of it.

It can't be Spurs, he says he's seen his side win multiple titles so that rules out them out

I'm old enough to remember when Spurs really did make history, when they became the first club in the 20th century to win the double, league and cup, in 1960/61. What a fabulous side that was! John Barber says they played a 2-3-5 formation, but I have no memory of that. http://www.johnbarber.com/double.html

Anyone got a feeling Palace might get sucked into the relegation battle? Depending on the Tyne Wear Derby result they could be five points above the drop zone.

It would the icing on the cake, that much i will certainly admit, and it would certainly raise a smile, but, personally, i'm really not that bothered. I'm sure there are many thousands of fans who are bothered - certainly enough to apparently make some daft banners - but most of the spurs fans i've interacted with over the years haven't really given it as much mind as you seem to think we do.

Maybe I just don't have many friends

Sorry, I didn't see this post earlier

The only way I can really describe the feeling is that when you're watching one of those games where you've had countless shots on goal and nothing is going in. Balls are cleared off the line, you've hit the bar a few times and the goalie is playing a blinder so you have that air of resignation that it's just not going to be one of those days.

That's how I feel about the title. With the way Leicester play, the luck they've had, the lack of injuries e.t.c., there's been that air of resignation about the fate of the title for some time so I really haven't been that invested in it.

I'll honestly be far more gutted if we end up in fourth spot after the season we've had and that's the absolute truth.

That would be a huge shock with Newcastle staying up and Pardew going down

I saw enough from Palace today against Leicester to make me think they have enough quality to remain in the premier league - they were not far from earning a draw. I believe the four teams with the worst defensive records, the only teams to have conceded more than 50 goals, the current bottom four teams, are the ones from whom the three to be relegated will be drawn.

So we have a Leicester fan that always, always backs whoever their opponents are to win and a Tottenham fan who isn't bothered about either winning the league or finishing above their greatest rivals. Very bizarre.

It depends how old you are, I'm old enough to remember all of Liverpool's title winning teams in the seventies and eighties, for somebody who was born too late to remember those, the feeling of dissapointrment must have been immense, that's not to say I wasn't extremely dissapointed also, but I have been fortunate enough to see us win many trophies.
It's only 2 decades, not many.
It looks like your time is over now anyway and you could be living in the shadow of City for a while.
