Or you could say their fifth league title. They were First Division Champions in 1937 and 1968.
Manchester United rattle on about having won 19 titles, but that figure includes 7 championships in the old football league. So......... why are United always referred to as having won 19 league titles and City are only ever talked about as having won 2 Premier League titles...? |

Does anyone know what happened in the Europa league game AZ Alkmaar vs Dundalk?
Dundalk goalkeeper went for an aerial challenge which he ran out and attempted to punch the ball, he missed ended up punching the players head (who got their first and scored), but the player was knocked out cold. He was left lying on the ground, his teammates were frantically waving for help (which took ages, the crowd were beginning to boo in frustration). Some of the players started crying, the manager then started to cry, infact the one of the AZ players who was helping had his hands covered in blood. I'd be trying to find out as much as I can about the players wellbeing after the game's finished as it looks pretty horrific. I'm not sure if he regained consciousness. Awww bless. Poor footie boy got a bloody nose. OK, so he's probably had his teeth rattled but I'm sure he'll survive, brave soldier that he is. In all probability, the reason medical attention took so long to get to him was because the medical staff thought "Another one making a meal of a nothing-bump." Let's face it, footballers are pretty well known for faking injury. So when a real incident comes along, it's hardly surprising if even the most conscientious medical teams are less than overwhelmed with concern. Of course, I hope the goalkeeper makes a speedy recovery, this being an actual, real life, genuine incident. A rare occurrence indeed. But I tend to view footballers going down "injured" as a sort of sports related Man Flu. The poor diddums will look as if he is at death's door, but in reality he's just wimping out. |

Wonder how Jose will take this?
Won't want to lose but doesn't fancy this competition... Quote:

Well some valid general points about footballers and "injurues" but in this case the attacker (not goalie) was taken off in a neck brace unconscious it seems so there was a serious genuine injury:

Blimey, referee changes his mind and gives a penalty to Southampton.
That was very strange, he must have acted on his assistants' recommendations. And Charlie Austin scores after Tadic tried his hardest to take the penalty from him! Bizarre happenings all round. |

Footballers definitely aren't like those rugby fellows, who are true professionals. If one of them gets knocked out they just play on until they regain consciousness. Footballers are such pansies.

2-0 Southampton apparently it's their return to Europe after 13 seasons they were in it last season
Sparta Prague have also already been in the group stages of the champions league as well this season according to Jenas |

I'm beginning to think Liverpool are a top 3 contender this year, very impressed how they are dominating Chelsea

Can see a Liverpool/City title race. Liverpool aren't in Europe which works in their favour.

Didn't expect that. A thoroughly competent Liverpool performance. Chelsea a bit timid and lacking creativity. So far City are easily the favourites for the title.

A thoroughly professional display by Liverpool. Crazy that Chelsea still rely so heavily on Terry, all over the place without him.

Can't see it. Pool are too vulnerable at the back. Individually the defenders are fine but not as a unit. Moses could have run them ragged if he'd been on earlier.
I think City are clear favourites, but Liverpool and Chelsea's fixture lists look manageable with no distractions. |

Conte not a fan of Fabregas and the new young Belgium striker they brought?
