The refereeing in the Watford game was terrific. Man United do not look to have improved any of the problems of the last two seasons, just thrown a lot of money at it.

Mourinho needs to pick the best team not the best players, which means dropping some superstars, maybe even one or two out of the 18.

correct.

I called it for england and received pelters in the last 2 competitions.

I told everyone that big sam had bottled it when he made rooney captain and keeps playing him, and received pelters again.

he has been finished for 2 years. He is playing on reputation.

Don't worry, i've been given shit for being against Rooney as well.

jose blaming the ref and "luck".

Having just spent 89 million on a single player.

At the moment, United are a collection of players, some of whom are capable of great moments. Not a recipe for consistency. Blame Moyes, blame LVG and blame Mourinho but at some point some of the players need to be questioned - are the moments worth it or should the team as a whole be the primary consideration?

There's a turn up. Mourinho is convinced that it was a foul on Martial and the first goal should have stood. Last week was the handball which the City defender knew nothing about.

Between Moyes, LVG and now Jose, Man United have spent something like £500 million on basically an entirely new team and more and they still look pretty mundane. They won the league in 2013 with a side that looks on paper to be inferior to this one man for man and yet they've looked nothing like challenging since.

Yes Mourinho has got a couple of marquee signings, in the style of Ron Atkinson from an age ago. Light years behind City at the moment and looking top 7 rather than top 4, the "special one" has some serious thinking to do.

half a billion and they are still weak in defence and midfield, and have rooney slowing the game down up top.

i thought chelsea could waste money on transfers, but moyes, lvg and jose have taken it to a whole new level.

I have to say I just love it when moaning Mourinho loses, it's made my day. He has been overrated for years, go watch Man City or Liverpool Jose, that's how to play the game, or even dare I say, Arsenal.🙂

Pogba seems lost. He doesn't seem to have any direction or clue what he's doing. For £89 million I would have thought he would at least know how to kick a ball in a straight line.

We keep hearing excuses made for the poor form of Carlton Palmer sorry Paul pogba since his signing.

He hasn't had a pre season not fit etc, not playing to his strengths but they can't keep using these excuses

I think Jose likes winning trophies so not sure how watching Liverpool or Arsenal would help him ? City maybe another story though.

He's plonked way back in midfield where he's not going to be able to have much influence when he really ought to be up the pitch where Rooney is hogging a place.

Stoke already 2 goals down to set plays. Starting to mirror west ham's problem in trying to balance defence and playing a pretty game going forward.

Southampton all over Swansea but cannot find the back of the net. Sometimes you just need a bit of luck in front of goal to get the season going.

I agree. Rooney isn't doing anything productive. Time to put Pogba where he was bought to play.

Pundits keep saying he needs to play in a three in midfield but don't go as far as to say in place of Rooney.

Redmond needs to stop leaning back when he strikes the ball, twice he has hit the ball over and high now

I hope Micheal Oliver continues to dish out yellow cards for the rest of the season for dissent like he did today as he'll set a record for the number of cards given.

I also like the new rule of players getting free kicks for holding opposition shirts and throwing themselves to the floor. Someone should ask Micheal Oliver when that rule was introduced.

Dont know how he missed that one. In front of the middle of the goal beats the defender you should at least get it on target and make the keeper save it. Southampton's season all over loads of shots just not putting them away.

I would like to see Austin get the nod over long. No so good in the air but much better at finding the target.

Well all 3 teams play attractive football to watch unlike moaners teams who are boring to watch, last season Chelsea, this season Man United.

Remind me when he last won a trophy.

I think the air of superiority Mourinho had has gone now , I'm wondering if players actually believe in him anymore after what happened last season , the way he managed his players in the past worked because his confidence in himself was head and shoulders above other managers , he seemed to deliver what he said he would, i think his previous teams were in awe of him and would do everything he asked , i think opponent players were a bit intimidated by him , but over the last few years of his career we've seen him implode, i don't think he has the same uniqueness about him anymore.

After last season i think he has just become another manager , i think other managers now know how to get under his skin and he doesnt have the same intimidation he had over other managers or players ,, i'm not saying he isnt world class anymore and he will never win anything ever again, just that who he was and what he thrived on has gone imo
