It depends how old you are, I'm old enough to remember all of Liverpool's title winning teams in the seventies and eighties, for somebody who was born too late to remember those, the feeling of dissapointrment must have been immense, that's not to say I wasn't extremely dissapointed also, but I have been fortunate enough to see us win many trophies.
It's only 2 decades, not many.
It looks like your time is over now anyway and you could be living in the shadow of City for a while.
I always found every season was as important as the one before, just because we'd won the league numerous times didn't make losing it the way we did to City any less awful. Jason's justification for his stance strikes me as some kind of deep pessimism, which I suppose is perfectly understandable coming from a Spurs fan!

As for your latter point, I can see why you'd hope that is true, but we're still in a pretty good position. Loads of cash, decent squad, just need to get the right manager. It's only been two and a half years for us, not two and a half decades

Your last point is the main point ........A good manager makes all the difference ........as Leicester have found ..

They can still win the league if Leicester hit problems , Arsenal have by far the easiest run-in of all the contenders. I'd be more worried about your own team to be honest , as at least the Gunners continue to play decent , exiting footie.
You still supporting your beloved Barca so you have two angles to aim from, Zico?

Exactly

I've been a Spurs fan far too long to get majorly invested in something that might happen. I remember watching the penalty shootout in the Champions League final as Drogba stepped up to take what would be the final penalty thinking "This is going in isn't it .. ".

If we were 9 points clear with two games left then I might start to get enthusiastic about it, but, being spurs, i'm sure we'd still find away to screw it up

Huge games today. Spurs surely must win against Bournemouth to keep up the pressure on Leicester. United must win against to City to have a chance of a CL spot. And it'll be a hammer blow to whoever loses in the Tyne & Wear derby.

Three draws coming up then?

Just been hearing them Discussing the Manchester United situation, and if Ryan Giggs can see where Louis Van Gall is going wrong.

Why hasn't Ryan tried to take control, say things to the players like, Yoiu and me know the Manchester Utd way, he doesn't, just go and play how we know.

That way they could get a mutiny going and if Louis noticed they were going behind his backs, He would Resign.

Ryan would at least be a caretaker for a while, and they could then have got somebody else in.

54/1 on three draws if you've got a spare fiver

City are fairly heavily favoured by most of the bookies as they're at home, and also because they've only lost once out of the last five derbies.

United's away form is pretty dire as well - one win, two draws and three losses, two in the last two games. City's home form is three wins, one draw and two losses, but two of those losses are also in the last three games.

So it's clearly got another 0-0 written all over it

How many of the current players know the Man Utd way and have been brought up on that system?

Yeah you do have a point, which I didn't think of, I guess your. Only looking at Carrick and Rooney.

It occurred to me earlier this morning that perhaps it would be better for Leicester if Spurs kept up the pressure by winning. There is a possibility that Spurs losing and the consequent consolidation of an eight point lead at the top might invite a dangerously premature sense of the job having been completed, of the title being in the bag. Leicester have shown last season and now this they flourish when the heat is at its most intense.

Must be difficult being a United fan knowing that a champions league spot might mean another year of Van Gaal and the almost certain ending of any prospect of Mourinho being manager; OTOH, how could a fan want United to miss a top of four spot. Interesting dilemma.

Absolutely, I thought he was the obvious man for the job, been there and got the T-shirt hasn't he. Is there any truth to the rumour I was told last week that Pearson was heading for Coventry?
Talking to my Leicester based friend just now and it turns out I had misremembered - it was Pearson possibly going, not to Coventry, but to Forest! Sorry about that.

As I remember it, he spent his last few years playing doing that - dirty so and so.

Both teams showing why they have conceded so many and why they have scored so few.

Defoe really should have scored there.

Philippe Coutinho continues his excellent week for Liverpool.

Rafa has a heck of a lot to do to make this Newcastle defence even vaguely solid. Sunderland could have scored several already, Defoe alone could have had a couple.

We were terrible yesterday, but driving home I almost ran over a couple of Arsenal fans who were having a full-on fight with each other.
Which cheered me up a bit.

Defoe finally makes a chance count!

Arguably the most difficult chance he's had in this match too.

Yes, the one man on the pitch who has consistently shown he knows how to score has done so. Newcastle look doomed to me.

If Liverpool keep this up, they're in with a very legitimate shout of the top 4.

Obviously I'd rather they go on a winning run after they've faced us on the 2nd of April, but they could certainly do it with two games in hand.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if, after eliminating United from Europe, Liverpool went on a run to the end of the season that is second only to Leicester's. If that doesn't inspire them to do so, I'm not sure what would.

Newcastle are now fighting for the premier league lives - let's see if they are capable of putting up a decent second half performance. And let's see if Colback can avoid being sent off. if I were a gambling man I would go for a double and bet on Colback being sent off for a second bookable offence and Sunderland to win by more than one goal. The only side I have seen worse than Newcastle is Villa.

Surely Newcastle are not going to lose to Sunderland again.

Did you hear that?

Newcastle have not won a Premier League match they've trailed in at half time for 9½ years.
