Big Sam is more known for saving clubs from relegation, rather than getting them promoted from the Championship, so I can't see him doing well at Villa, if he were to go there.

As celesti says he's had a few promotions. There's no reason to suspect he couldn't do it again at the right club, although I think anyone would struggle with Villa at the moment. It'll take time to turn them around, and will they afford any manager that?

Steve Bruce is favourite for the Villa job, which makes sense I guess.

You'd think he'd check before posting or at least learn something about the subject. Embarrassed himself again lol.

An appointment that surely stems from the influence of the two US sports owners who basically took over the club in the summer.

I said that he was more well known for saving clubs, not that he hadn't had successful times in the Championship before, which of course he has had previously.

So I have not "embarrassed myself again" at all.

I would learn from my mistakes if in this case I had made one, but I didn't.

I never said that Sam had not had success in the Championship, just that he was not known by and large for it, instead he is more likely to be known for saving clubs that need saving from relegation to that division.

If Costa had been sent off instead of staying on and scoring decisive goals, then so would Chelsea.

He's a manager whose level is mid to low top division, where Aston Villa would kill to be. He took over at West Ham when they were freshly relegated and got them back up, the exact mandate Villa's next manager faces.

He's unlikely to get the offer with what's gone on, but as a manager he'd be absolutely perfect for the job.

Regardless of what you think he is most known for, how would that come into it anyway if you're acknowledging that he's also been successful in getting teams promoted? The only thing that actually matters is whether he's got the skill set and experience needed to take a club up.

Villa will stay up, just about. They are just so low on confidence right now that they couldn't buy a win. Mind you even if they did go down, local derbies against Walsall will be fun....

You said you can't see him doing well at Villa because he is more known for surviving relegation. His record shows that he's clearly capable of getting teams promoted. So what are you basing your opinion of him not doing well on if he has the record to prove he can do it? Him being more known for surviving relegation isn't an argument.

I don't know if he would do well at Villa, simply because something doesn't seem right at that club, but it's nothing to do with him or what he's supposedly more well known for. In their position there aren't that many better to get you back up to the Premier League, and keep you in the Premier League.

American owners bring in American manager.

Whilst I agree the top 3 look strong, 7 games is far too early - especially given the varied fixture difficulty.

Bleaty McBleat Face. You never bang on relentlessly about any fortune Chelsea get. Strange that.

Swansea appoint Bob Bradley (American owners had a influence?)

Not sure its the most inspiring appointment and I don't think Swansea have been that bad...

Don't forget 2 of those 3 promotions listed were via the Playoffs. He had the biggest budget in the league and the best squad when West Ham came up via the Playoffs too. So whilst he definitely knows what he's doing at this level i don't think its a no-brainer. Win ratio is never massive for his style of football, especially away from home.

He's not got a record of obliterating the division sure, but we can certainly say that he's got experience of promotion and isn't just a Winston Wolf for teams lingering at the bottom of the Premier League.

Cardiff have now gotten rid of their manager, international week sure is a time for replacing managers!

I don't think this is adding to the discussion, do you?

Any incorrect decision that blatantly hands a team a goal is wrong, be it for or against chelsea or any other PL team.

Lot of unlikely early strugglers in the Championship, you wouldn't be surprised to see any of them bar maybe Rotherham up at the top usually. Don't slip into League One gang, it's a steaming hellhole.
