Aston Villa score

Maybe Bruce is the right manager for them

Soft, soft penalty for me.

Wolves equalise from the penalty spot after Cissokho thought he was playing volleyball.

And Moyes will be managing another club whilst enjoying his 3rd big payout from a club that has dismissed him.

Nice job if you can get it.

Steve Bruce has shifted a fair bit of weight. He no longer looks like a heart attack in waiting.

Don't think so. Last year he had a good chance to keep them up.

He seems to have had a haircut as well, the break from managing has seemed to have been very kind to him.

This is probably a bit of a stream of consciousness but here goes ..

I don't think Moyes is "stealing a living". I think it's more to do with him being a very 'old school' manager who hasn't actually adapted to the modern game. If you look at what he did with Everton, you can't deny he did a good job with them on a restricted budget but the thing is, he had time - and a lot of it.

A manager like that probably can turn a side around and into a decent footballing side if they get the chance to work with the players over an extended period, but I guess the problem he had, and has, is that he's now in a situation where he needs to turn teams around quickly and start getting results quickly otherwise he's immediately under pressure.

Someone like Steve Bruce, Allardyce even, probably has a way of working that he knows will get the players going in a short amount of time, and it's proven to work - that's largely why he's never out of a job.

If Moyes went to a club like, say, Blackburn where the fans would probably just be happy with a bit of stability and staying in the Championship in the short term, then he'd be out of the spotlight for a while with no pressure and probably would get the time he needs to actually do a job for them.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but my hometown team Spennymoor Town have reached the FA Cup first round for the first time.

This game is shocking, no quality from either side, not exactly a good advert for the premier league. Not sure what sky were thinking picking this game for tv!

They have to show each team at least 5 times, kills 2 birds with 1 stone I guess

A poor game but we had the moment of quality.

Nice to keep a clean sheet - Boro looked pretty toothless

Swansea and Hull next.

Not the greatest 'Super Sunday' of football on Sky, was it?

Boro will struggle to stay in the league, especially if Swansea begin to pick up under the new management.
