He is Ibra, he has been one of the most consistently good strikers for a while now, and was coming off of, one of his best ever scoring seasons, so it wasn't as if we were getting someone way past their best.

The fact that he has a real connection with José just added to the excitement for me, and he is now showing why he is one of, if not the best out and out pure striker in the league, not many are on his level that is for sure.

Costa is a fantastic striker, no doubt about that, and is in superb form at the moment, however Ibra's record is there for all to see, he has consistently been good at whichever club he has been at.


I meant Spurs, as well as ourselves (as West Brom and Everton now are just a bit too far away now) when I was talking about sides putting presure on those above.

As for my comments that you reference, I also said which you have done well to ignore, that we needed to go on a run of wins, I said about five or six in a row to put real pressure on those teams above us, and we have started to do just that, and now we are within a decent and credible points gap to the teams in the top four, which is good to see from our perspective (of course three teams have a game in hand).

I am not denying that I have said these (why would I??), however previous to these posts, if you do wish to be fair and balanced in these discussions, you will see that I did say we needed to go on a good run of winning games.

You seem to be implying I'm picking and choosing specific quotes to make you look bad. All I'm doing is quoting you saying these things because, well, you said them. I'm not going to spend all day going through your many posts to find the odd one where you mention going on a run of wins.

After saying several times, for the past month, that you aren't getting in the top four, and that you should concentrate on the Europa League, it'd be easy to miss the one post you mention winning five or six games in a row, given that you speak in such absolute terms, and so often. I don't remember every single thing you ever say. If you say something often enough, that's what I'm going to remember, and you've said what I've quoted above quite a lot, those are just three posts made in one day.

I think the predicament they're currently in is as much to do with the lack of stability there's been at the club - both relating to manager and owner - post-Monk than anything else.

Yes I am very happy to admit my mistakes, and if or when I have made a mistake I will own up to it, but to only selectively pick out certain quotes if mine to have a go at me, does seem a bit unfair, or at the very least one sided, without giving the full picture.

It is sad that you feel that you have to ignore me, as that doesn't do much for conversation, as the more with differing views the better I think.

If we are to get back to discussing what I said, then yes perhaps in those posts, I might have been a tad quick to dismiss our current run of victories, and the possibility of us doing so, my error there, I will hold my hands up, I have no issues in doing so.
