Allardyce Premier League return incoming then, I suppose.

Makes you wonder who Sunderland will go for when they inevitably sack Moyes.

I was actually thinking about Sunderland. If they got rid of Moyes I have a feeling they'd go for him. They'd to better to hang on to Moyes.

They have got a few decent results as of late, so perhaps that is why he is still at Sunderland, but honestly, it wouldn't come as a shock, to see him being fired before the end of the season, as Sunderland don't really hold onto their managers for all that long.

It was coming, I guess. The odd thing is it seems a little surprising, I think because there haven't been rumours of him getting sacked like there normally is. At least I haven't seen them. Normally you get a week or so of the manager about to be fired, and that hasn't happened.
I think everyone got wrong-footed by the home win against Southampton and the expressions of unity which came out of the club afterwards - mostly from Pardew himself, thinking about it now.

Perhaps the imminent reopening of the transfer window persuaded Paris that now was the time to act.

It's a good thing it happened now, before he was able to be offered the England job.
Yes, that Guardian article in which he portrayed himself as being a key part of the Palace/England long term masterplan has become even more unwittingly hilarious than it was at the time.

I feel like Swansea are going to stubbornly stick by Bradley, regardless of how poorly things go.

Pardew to Sunderland could always happen, although I personally predict his next job will be in the Championship.

I have seen links of Padew to Forest, I don't quire know how reliable they are, but nothing would surprise me at this stage.

Maybe a slightly happier Christmas, as it seems he has got a £5 million pay off.

Big Sam has already been linked with the job, to no real surprise.
Big Sam would be bad news for the other clubs at the bottom.

Yeah, he always seems to do good with teams round about that position when he comes in.

Oh no - just when they are due to face us.
I'm just glad they held on until after we'd played them.

Big Sam would be a really uninspiring appointment for Palace. Having had the likes of Warnock, Pulis and Pardew these last few years their fans surely must be hoping for someone a bit more interesting than that.

It depends on whether they want to be in The Premier League or The Championship.

That's exactly it. It's not exciting at all, and chances are that the football won't be attractive either, but he'll keep them in the Premier League.

It is what he is best at, I don't think he has ever been relegated has he?

I think if anyone can keep them up, it is him.

Just looking at the betting for the next manager. Coleman at second favourite might be interesting. Obviously his stock has risen a lot because of what he's done with Wales. He did well with Fulham at first when he was managing them in the Premier League before eventually getting the sack after a lot of their better players were sold off. Not sure if he'd leave Wales for them or exactly where he's at as a club manager.

5th in the betting is Mancini. That would be a statement if they could lure him there. I'm leaning towards thinking that's who they should go for if not Big Sam. Might be difficult with their finances, and he left Galatasaray when it transpired they didn't have a lot to spend. Could be a bit like Newcastle landing Benitez if they were to get him.

Sam, well he's the obvious pick and I fully expect him to end up there. Nothing wrong with picking him imo.

Klinsmann's name is around, and like Mancini would be high profile but a bit risky for me.

Not from the Premier League, but he was relegated with Notts County some years back.

I doubt Allardyce is the only manager they could find to keep them up. I don't know exactly what's gone wrong under Pardew, but with their squad they should be comfortably above the likes of Burnley, Middlesboro and the 3 teams occupying the relegation spots, so it shouldn't really be that much of a stretch.

That's all that matters to me. Bah to entertainment. I can get that watching other teams on TV or other sports. 6 league victories in 12 months, I just want to see my team start winning games again and if Big Sam brings us that then I'm more than happy.

Sam Allardyce is in talks with Crystal Palace.

As he drove into the training ground, Allardyce told Sky Sports News HQ: "I'm just here to talk to Steve and assuming it all goes all right it should be ok."

Asked if he felt was the right job to re-launch his management career - after his ill-fated one-match England spell - he said: "Fantastic."

So it looks like he's going to be the next manager. Would be a great appointment for them. I'm glad Liverpool have already played them, and away, too. I hate playing against Big Sam.

Poor old Sam.. Looks like he's getting back on that merry go round that he thought he'd jumped off for the final time....

Anyway, good appointment for Palace if it happens, and a club with more potential and perhaps excitement than Sunderland

Yeah, we've been really entertaining at times this season and look where that has got us. give me a bunch of scrappy 1-0 wins any day.

Something tells me that Joey Barton's move to Burnley might now be about to fall through.

Did he have a bet on that City game where he got sent off?

Apparently he's been charged under the old rules of players being banned from betting in matches that they're involved in, so who knows? I certainly wouldn't put it past him, the stupid punt.
