the ego of moyes and Rodgers will not let them manage in the champsionship

villa could be relegated again next season

Martin Demichelis has been charged by the Football Association over alleged betting offences.

Quote:
“The Argentine, 35, is accused of committing 12 breaches relating to football matches between 22 January and 28 January 2016.

He has until 17:00 BST on 5 April to respond to the charge.”

Kind of expected but it's resulted in people using it to explain his performances for Man City.

Well we drew away at West Ham and beat Everton in the two games he played during the time he has been charged. Knowing Demichelis he more than likely bet on us losing as he was playing but we some how managed not to lose for once!!

More than likely just bet on 1st corner/throw in or something. No police charge so nothing major. We have more important things to worry about...like rebuilding a old team with no passion.

Ego?

Why should two Manager's who have good records managing in the top flight take over championship sides?

Moyes was a yoyo manager, top 6 then bottom 6, then top 6 etc

Then he was a failure at his last two clubs

Rodgers achieved with Swansea, but then there was never any expectation other than staying up. When he moved to Liverpool, he was an absolute disaster, his management style was awful. Talking about himself in the third person. He got very lucky with sterling, Sturridge and suarez, and when that fell apart he reverted back to buying garbage.

both should re group in the championship. Why should two failures be rewarded with top jobs?

Where does the ego part come from?

Are you suggesting that Rodgers doesn't have a big ego?

Rodgers is a bit David Brent sure, but I've not seen much from Moyes to suggest he thinks he's above it. Have you?

if moyes takes the villa job, he will certainly have proved me wrong

I'd hope if he does he gives it a while for them to get their house in some kind of order first. Like you said, I could see them continuing to drop at this rate too.

Anyone who is addicted to gambling on this forum, would do well to put money on villas' double relegation.

(stop gambling when its stops being fun etc etc)

I think you're conflating ego with self-confidence. There's a clear distinction. Rodgers has a lot of self-belief. I don't see how that means he has a big ego.

I don't see that he was a huge failure at Liverpool.

Under his management we came very close to the league title.

He currently has a preference for working abroad.

An exaggerated sense of self importance

Definitely Rodgers, enough to talk about himself in the 3rd person.

Seems like an age since there was PL matches!

Anyhow big weekend ahead. Very tough assignment for Spurs. A loss at Anfield and a Leicester win Sunday all but wraps up the league for the latter with 6 matches to play imo. Could not see Spurs making up 8 points with United, Chelsea and Stoke in Stoke all to come

The race for 4th in itself has now gotten very exciting also. I expect all of West Ham, United and City to win at the weekend though. A Liverpool win will give them a glimmer also.

You do never know with Arsenal but I do think they'll have enough for Watford but you wouldn't put the house on them that's for sure

Wonder what sentence Martin Demichelis will get for breaching betting rules

Odds on it's not enough....

Firstly when have Everton not been a yoyo club?

Trying to paint Rodgers Liverpool career as a disaster is nothing short of embarrassing.

If that's disaster then I would love to know what just average looks like according to you.

Again you have managed to jump to conclusions. Who said anything about top jobs?

In your world care to explain how not going to a championship club means that either should then are only looking for a top job? Believe it or not there are more options than a championship club and a top 6 club.

Then again the likes of Moyes and Rodgers should know there place.

Where do you get the idea that he has an exaggerated sense of self-importance?

Talking about yourself in the third person is no indication of this. Have you ever read a c.v for example?

It's not necessarily a sign of being egotistical at all.

Ricky Hatton used to do it all the time as does Amir Khan.

I never thought or think either are egotistical.

Well that much would be obvious to anyone. On planet Codeblue however...

Actually never...Yo-yo refers to teams that get regularly promoted and relegated...as Everton have been in the top division of English football longer than other club, they can never be referred to as a yo-yo club.

So back to the PL action tomorrow

So many huge games.

A must win for Arsenal vs Watford, which I think they should be ok in. I think City will get a win v B'mouth too but will it be enough to send them on a winning run? West Ham really should be beating free falling Palace at home

Match of the day though Liverpool v Spurs.
A pool win and top 4 is still a possibility. Anything less than 3 points for Spurs and I'd go as far as saying it could be title race over, if Leicester are to win on Sunday.

A win for Spurs would be massive though

Norwich v Newcastle is huge of course also.

Have a sneaky suspicion both Spurs and Leicester will drop points this weekend.

Even if Leicester go 8 points clear I still think they have some work to do.

Really tough to call.

After the collapse at Southampton I would have expect a response from Liverpool tomorrow but the international break may have given time for the pain to fade. I have feeling Spurs could nick it.

Tough game for Leicester, if we are still five points clear come Sunday night I would be very happy.

Arsenal have been in the top division since 1919, Everton since 1954.

Arsenal have the longest uninterrupted period in the top division. Everton have been in the top division the longest since formation of the football league in 1888 having only ever been relegated twice...1930/31 & 1950/51 seasons.

Arsenal have been relegated once in 1912/13 but started out in Division 2 not getting into Division 1 until 1904/5 where as Everton started out in Division 1 in 1888.
