Even if Leicester go 8 points clear I still think they have some work to do.
I know it's easy to assume Leicester might bottle it but they've been fearless so far and are admirably grinding out wins.

If they go 8 points clear with 6 to play, it's over, end of. They would only need 11 points from 6 matches and that's assuming Spurs somehow bounce back and win their last 6 which ain't happening

They're 90% of the way there already, but 8 points and you may aswell present the trophy tomorrow

Really tough to call.

After the collapse at Southampton I would have expect a response from Liverpool tomorrow but the international break may have given time for the pain to fade. I have feeling Spurs could nick it.

Tough game for Leicester, if we are still five points clear come Sunday night I would be very happy.
Spurs haven't won at Anfield since 2011 and have disappointed in their recent two "big" league matches barring a ten minute blitz v Arsenal- losing a 2-1 lead against ten men was criminal

Really big game for them. If they lose today they can have no complaints if they lose the league tbh. Liverpool are still a long way behind them in the table

We'll learn far more about their league credentials today than against an "on-the-beach" Bournemouth and hopeless Villa

Hoping Pool do it, **** it we'll never get a story like this again! any other season I'm fine with Spurs!

I'm not assuming they'll bottle it, but they have tricky games to come and thus there's still work to do. The way this season has gone, I wouldn't feel comfortable crowning anyone until they're mathematically safe.

Well in fairness it would be a bottle job if they lost from 8 ahead! They'd probably have to lose 3 or 4 matches from 6! And even 3 losses could be enough for them! Spurs still have United and Chelsea, Stoke away!

What makes it worse is Chelsea are currently a less than industrious collection of individuals playing in 3rd gear.

Lescott is there in body only.

Absolutely. They're still a shadow of last season's team and the side they have out today is far from a vintage one- no Costa, Hazard, Willian, Oscar, JT, Matic in starting team and a few kids out instead

Villa are a disgrace

Burnley equalise in injury time to make up for a disallowed goal 5 minutes ago that was over the line

I decided to watch this game instead of Villa-Chelsea because it's a more important game........

You have to think that unless they go through some sort of massive rebuilding process in the summer - which looks unlikely with the current uncertainty at the top of the club - there's no way Aston Villa are going to come straight back up from the Championship.

In fact, you could even say that another relegation battle was a likelier possibility.

"Proud history, what future" indeed.

I decided to watch this game instead of Villa-Chelsea because it's a more important game........
While it's almost sadistically pleasurable to watch Villa plunge further into the abyss, the decision to televise this match between two teams who are barely going through the motions was nothing short of ludicrous - particularly considering that the vital match between Norwich and Newcastle will not be shown live.

The worst thing about Villa is the lack of fight. They seem to have their minds on the beach in the summer.
Agbonlahour showing no respect whatsoever doesn't help either.

The championship is a very tough league. Refs don't blow the whislte everytime someone falls over. Villa will be in for a shock next season.

I find it difficult to get my head round the notion of professional footballers not trying, which seems the almost taken for granted perception of the current Aston Villa squad. It's okay to talk about a rotten apple or two, but Villa seem to have a complete barrel load. Why would any other club want to take on players who appear to have no integrity, no pride in their performance, no commitment to the fans and no sense of the privileged nature of their jobs compared to most other people of their age. The contrast with their Midlands neighbours Leicester could not be more stark.

Do you remember the match they played at the start of the season when Villa led 2-0 and Leicester came back to win 3-2?

Could almost be seen as a defining moment in both clubs' whole seasons now.

On a similar note, it's conceivable that Villa could be mathematically relegated after playing Man Utd in two matches' time - which would be poignant because Villa were toe-to-toe with them as a club when the Premier League began.

I like that, even if it isn't right, it deserves to be

Truth to tell, I probably didn't give the match much thought back then. After all, who were Leicester at the start of the season, so my guess is I didn't watch it, as Villa haven't exactly been a must watch side for quite a while.

Halfway through the first half at Carrow Road and it's been all Norwich so far.

They should be in front but Mbokani had a goal correctly disallowed for offside.

Man City are doing a bit of a job on Bournemouth at the moment...

City showing why - when they're in the mood - they're far too good to finish outside the top 4. Now that sh1t is hitting the fan I expect them to get their act together and possibly even finish in the top 3

City could hit double figures if they are in the mood. Bournemouth still giving it a go. Even 0-3 down after 19 minutes, they aren't Villa.

De Bruyne is back for City, he has been very seriously missed.

I've given up trying to predict what Arsenal will do.

Not really. They've been consistent in beating the poorer sides, as they undoubtedly have the ability in forward areas. They just can't get enough points against the better teams that take advantage of their open midfield and weak defence. Their competitors are getting more points against the better sides, with most of them (especially the top two) being as efficient against the strugglers. Flat track bullies this season.

Norwich lead, Tim Klose heading home a perfectly delivered free kick to the far post.

Completely and totally deserved on the balance on the play so far.

Speaking of free kicks, Dmitri Payet has just scored another fantastic one to put West Ham 2-1 up on Palace.

Of course they are, they have the best team in the league

Yes, they've been off form but lets be honest now they actually have to start giving a sh1t they're more likely to be an entirely new animal

1. Focused on Europe and probably assumed Top 4 was a certainty
2. To be fair Arsenal are always capable of great showings, it just rarely happens when there's any sort of pressure on them :P but it's always enough to get top 4
