Why did he not do that against Fiorentina in the previous round, then?
Didn't have confidence they would still be in contention for the title back then?

Was really looking forward to the Spurs/Dortmund tie. What a non-event.

It's almost tantamount to conceding you're going to lose the match before it begins, frankly.

How did Pochettino explain it?
It's the Europa league and it doesn't matter. They are going for the league.

Yep, I tuned in, checked the team selection and then immediately switched off. They should at the least refund all their travelling fans.

Good attacking sides named by both Klopp and van Gaal.

I think you could make a claim that this is the biggest match ever played in the Europa League, personally.

They played a worse team away to Fiorentina and got a 1-1 draw, should they refund those fans too?

Do you seriously think Fiorentina are at the same level as Borussia?

They are 4th in Serie A, not 4th in League 2. Spurs shouldn't give a toss about the Europa league, it's a distraction for them. Rotating the squad is smart, why bother paying players £40k a week if they can't play a game?

Short term view from them IMO. English teams are struggling to such an extent that there's a risk we'll drop below Italy in the European co-efficient, meaning Italy will get a fourth slot in the Champions League rather than the Premier League.

With a Chelsea side not distracted by Europe, Liverpool under Klopp for a full season and Manchester United potentially not having so many injuries next time out combined with Arsenal and Manchester City being up there - and goodness knows what Leicester will do - the Champions League places will be tough enough for Spurs next year without taking one off.

They want Champions League football? Then they should look like they want Champions League football. Europa League success is a way in after all.

Penalty Liverpool!

Debatable at first glance - in terms of location anyway.

My first thought was that was outside the box.

Not the most convincing penalty I've ever seen but it went in.

de Gea did in fact get a touch on it but couldn't keep it out.
