You see that's it, if you had to restart the season I'd imagine most would back City, I certainly would. They'll be bookies favourites next season for a reason when this year ends.

With finally what looks like an injury free side coming together I'd be very surprised if they didn't get top 4 now
Start of season I predicted the title would go to Manchester with City and United ahead of the pack. Both teams have fallen way below what I expected. Having said that, City are clearly especially focussed in Europe and I think it would be foolhardy to write them off against PSG. City can hurt anyone when on song.

Lets see what the summer brings in terms of managerial appointments and transfers before saying who will be favorites for the league title next season.
It doesn't matter the day this season finishes City will be bookies favourites that's what I'm saying. They already have their new manager anyhow and will surely make a big signing or two. Barring another team signing the Barca front 3 and SAF managing them, City will be actual favourites when it kicks off

PSG are a far better team than City, and have less weaknesses, so I don't see how City over two legs can out perform PSG and do enough to go through.

yep, Knock out football can be funny too, something like a dodgy red card and penalty can cost/win a team a tie. Worse teams than City have won the UCL

But it is irrelevant what is said on the day after this season finishes about who is favourites for next season, as so much can and will change to the squads of all of the major teams competing for the title.

You say that they will make a big signing or two, but so will everyone else you would think, so that is no reason to put them out in front of everyone else.

So much can and will happen in the summer window that predicting who will be favorities come the start of next season is just so hard to do.

All of the "big" teams will need to change a fair few things, and City are definitely no different there.

It's hardly PSG vs Aston Villa. There's been far bigger upsets in football, if it was as simple as being "better" than the other team then there would be no such a thing as bookmakers for one!

Do you admit Liverpool are a better team than United so?

.
I don't care. I said City will be favourites and they will, because why?- they are perceived to have the best team in the league. Simples!

We have beaten Liverpool in the league, and are currently above them in the league table, so why would I admit that they are a better team than us?

Perceived by whom as to have the best team in the league?
As I don't think that they do.

They have plenty of weaknesses, just as a lot of teams do, and they will need to be active in the summer window if they hope to have a better season than the one that they are currently having.

Oh right so, the "better" team doesn't actually always win in knockout football?

Your bias against City is laughable! You'd no doubt be predicting United would be in with a huge chance v PSG

Bookies, punters, general public

What you think isn't really relevant or United would be 1/100

No, we would get thrashed by PSG, I have no issue saying as such, why would I say otherwise?

I don't understand odds, so are those good or not? (does that mean if I put a pound on, I would get a £100 back??)

To be fair, what anyone here on DS thinks is a bit irrelevant to the overall outcome of a match, it is only just discussion at the end of the day!

Oh I don't know, we vary between being 'a farce and a disgrace' and the bestest of the best depending on what our last result was.

Cannot remember when I have ever seen Spurs play with this assurance at Anfield.

And why has Mignolet not practiced sufficiently to stop being the worst distributor of the ball of all the goalies in the premier league?

Ha.

I honestly would give Utd a good chance in any knockout game, so unlucky v Bayern and Madrid a few years back

They really have a horrible record there, 1 win in 11 or something?

Milner puts himself in prime position and then bottles the chance when it arrives.

Yep, pretty bad, Spurs have won less than a handful in the last century at Anfield.

But this is a young Spurs side and they do not play as though they are carrying baggage from the past.

With Milner's first touch there, I'd have him at 1/100 to score if he got the same chance again. I'd be rich I think?!?!?!?!

Just as well a penalty wasn't given then, there was no foul.

Liverpool just penning Spurs back a bit more now.

That was as you say a few years ago, both Bayern and Real Madrid have improved their teams since then, whilst we have not, we'll not to the same level as them any way, both currently are better teams than we are.

I remember when he first started as a winger for Leeds, became the youngest ever scorer in the premier league and was sufficiently skillful to draw comparisons with Rooney and the like. Has become increasingly more of a water carrier, not that isn't important, we all need to drink.

Milner, Sturridge, both wasted golden chances - with Mignolet in goal, I feel Liverpool need at least two goals in every match to stand any chance.

Lallana nearly scored by accident there.
