If Newcastle go down as seems likely, then they will I think sell a fair few of them to get them off of their books due to their high wages.
Newcastle dont really have any prized assets!

I quite like Sissoko, Wijnaldum, and Krul, and think that they could bring in a fair amount of money.

You and Van Gaal like Krul. Perhaps he will be brought in to replace De Gea if/when he moves to Madrid. Imagine, Krul in goal and Van Gaal still managing United next season.

I would be shocked if more than one of their prized assets were to be sold in the same summer, despite their poor season so far.
I wouldn't...it's the best team in ages, but still be mid table...I would actually cash in and bring in new blood....I would rather players actually want to play for the club.

Martinez has got to go, he is turning the people's club into a f'ing embarassment

So much potential in this squad and he is squandering it

Only the Cup to play for now, no hope of a decent position in the league, everybody's confidence in him all but gone
Dream on...the board still have faith in him, even with the new man...so just get used to having him for next season...still nice to dream.

I really cannot see Leicester blowing the league now...

Martinez might need to win the cup to save his job..

Still beat us next week mind!

First ever la liga game watched live Seville v real sociedad

Expected Seville to be much better than they were .

Watching some kind of Spanish football show with Vicente del bosque. From what I could make out it seems they are certain that Benitez will be at Valencia next season

Did the whole experience live up to your expectations? How did the crowd compare to ours? Very envious

It was quite good but I suppose you put la liga as the top league so the quality of the game let me down slightly .

50 euros got me quite a low seat I think it works the other way in Spain the lower you go the more expensive it is.

They had their moments and they had some songs that sounded interesting if I knew more Spanish

I had just finished watching it on Sky, did seem a bit of strange match, although Seville were pushing in the second half, it never really looked like they would score (penalty aside) and they didn't really look that bothered either.

You've reminded me of when I had the chance to see Brazil play. It was in the early days of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and they were playing Wales in a friendly. I was lucky a former student of mine had free tickets. I reckoned this might be my only chance to see Brazil live, so I took it. The game was terrible, but I will never forget the experience. Unlike yours, our seats were so high I had a nose bleed

Antonio Conte will be the Chelsea manager next season.

Makes next season a bit more interesting, at least.

I wouldn't go quite that far, I do think he is a good keeper though, and he could be good a good signing for any other team looking for a keeper this summer.

If De Gea is sold (which I don't think that he will be), then I would prefer other targets, say any of the two English keepers (Butland or Forster) ahead of Krul.

Was kind of confirming the inevitable, really.

In other news, Harry Redknapp thinks Wes Morgan has been unlucky not to have gotten an England cap yet.

That would be the Wes Morgan with 25 caps for Jamaica.

Puzzles me why the BBC have kept him on. It is many years since he captured the attention with his comments and, of course, his enthusiasm for the game to often seems difficult to detect.
Larwenson is the worst pundit on TV, offers no insight into the game, just moans moans moans, with snide sarcastic comments, then becomes the comedian[a dreadful comedian at that] really should be binned, although it was funny to see Mark Chapman making a fool of Lawrenson MOTD2 a few weeks back.

Yes both of those goalies would be preferable, should a decision need to be made. I don't think Krul is all that as a goalie, to be honest; he is by no means a van der Sar and I see no reason at all why United should aim for less.

Interesting the way the frenzied speculation about Van Gaal has quietened down, at least so it seems to me.

If Leicester do as seems likely, end up winning the league title, will they have similar odds (5000-1 wasn't it at the start of this season?) to retain their title, or will they be lower than that?

They surely will be the longest odds of any team looking to retain their title in at least Premier League history, if not for longer than that!

A team who just finished as champions won't have similar odds to win the league the season after as one that just avoided relegation, no.
