If Leicester do as seems likely, end up winning the league title, will they have similar odds (5000-1 wasn't it at the start of this season?) to retain their title, or will they be lower than that?
Do you really not know the answer to that?

A team who just finished as champions won't have similar odds to win the league the season after as one that just avoided relegation, no.
Fair enough, what odds do you think they will be to retain their league title (if they do end up winning it)? (ball park figures)

With Conte at Chelsea, Guardiola at City, José possibly at United, and Klopp having a full summer at Liverpool, there will be a lot of competition for that title next season, so Leicester I think will be at long odds to retain it, just not too sure about quite how long those odds will be.

I think it's best if you venture nowhere near the world of gambling.

Well I am not the biggest gambler, nor do I profess to be the most knowledgeable in this area, so I thought that I would allow others with more experience and knowledge than myself to help me answer my question.

I don't gamble anyway, I was just interested in finding put what sort of odds they would have to retain their title, that was all.

You don't have to be a gambler to work that out, surely?

I've never placed a bet in my life, but I'd have a guess that they might be given shorter odds, as champions.

Tell you what, though. I'll bet you £50 that they're not at 5,000/1, next year. How about it?

Leicester won't have the same odds, due to being champions rather than a team that just escaped relegation. I imagine the odds would be 20/1 or something. I'm not sure what odds league champions tend to get, and obviously it changes with people betting on them and others. They won't be favourites but it won't be 5000/1.

Whoever survives out of Newcastle, Sunderland and Norwich will probably end up being favourites.

Maybe stick to your comfort zone then, in terms of the topics that you talk about!

As a guess, I would say around 50 or 66/1

20/1 is way too short, they'll be about 66/1 I'd say as Nova says

All that I wanted was some opinions as to what they might possibly be (the odds) for next season, sorry if I went about asking it in the wrong way.

I thank the posters that put in a range, as that does clear things up slightly.

Clears what things up?

Why are you interested, if you have no intention of placing a bet?

Sorry if you actually are going to have a punt, but it just seems an odd question, otherwise.

To put 5000/1 into perspective you'd get the same odds on Christmas being the warmest day on record in Britain this year!

I don't like betting, but I don't mind seeing odds for various things here and there, (even if sometimes I don't quite fully understand them!) and Leicester retaining their title (if they end up winning it this season), was just something that popped into my mind, so I thought that I would ask more knowledgeable folk about it, that was all.

Sorry if I went about it in not the best manner.

Really, wow, they really were total underdogs then!

I know of a bloke in Leicester who placed a tenner on them, but 'cashed out' at £29,000. Couldn't hold his nerve.

My brother-in-law's brother had a fiver on them, and is holding on, last I heard.

5000/1 are the odds most bookmakers use if they thinnk something is never going to happen.

Like Elvis being found alive and well, running a chip ship.

Even if people put stupid bets on, it will preven the business going under or having to lay them, "just incase".

That would be a nice dilemma to have- cash out for a few £000 or hold on for a few more.

I gamble a fair bit and cash out is always an interesting one, I've never really used it much before, largely because if I'd cashed out the £10 bet and they won the league I'd be classing it as a £21,000 loss in some respects. I think if I was lucky enough to be in that position I'd want it to be around 80% of my potential winnings to tempt me, I'd be holding out for just before their last 3 tricky games.

Weren't the odds available some weeks ago, they were quite good. One member on here put money on them thinking it was the odds to win this year. He promptly withdrew the bet when he was told of his error.

What do people think of Terry's team of the season here?!-

https://twitter.com/sr_collings/stat...935942144?s=09

Bit surprised to see Smalling as hus best right back of the season, s he hasn't played there for us so far.

Other than that, it seems fair enough.

Yeah, a quick Google tells you the odds for next season – though you shouldn't need to do that to know that Leicester quite obviously won't be 5000/1 again. They're 33/1 with skybet, 40/1 at Coral. City, Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Spurs and Liverpool are all above them.

Too many Leicester players in it IMO, 7/11, i mean, come on! I'd have Bellerin at right back instead of Smalling too.

Just been to bookies and have put a bet on. Only a tenner but hey will be laughing all the way to the bookies when THFC win the title

Why on a separate matter is skybet still having bets on everton being relegated at 5000/1. Everton have been an ever present in the top flight and apart from arsenal havent been relegated.

It will be great for the premier league that a club like west ham southampton gatecrashed the top four next season. But beware of totally unfounded allegations of doping that has been said has been behind leicesters stunning revival. Though that is totally BS. IMHO

Makes me laugh that arsenal fans are shouting the most re doping but they were implicated as well
