I always thought that to play for the england team that you have to had an outstanding season for your club. A few of those on the plane to euro 2016 have been carrying injuries during the season but still manage to get in the squad. Must be due to who they play for

Or maybe it's because of what they've done at international level in the past?

But then that would be far too sensible an explanation.

Not really, you need a bit emphasis on how they are playing at the moment as well, it's stupid to go on past ability without seeing him hardly kick a ball in a year.

As stats go for Arsenal...he hasn't really made a difference with him in or out of the squad.

How far in the past do you go, to show that they should be in the squad or the team? A year, two years or more?
What would be an acceptable cut off point?

There is no cut off point, it's a case by case basis depending on a lot of factors.

So in this case, how far do you go back?

50% of me wants Wilshere to miss out on the Euro's so he can have a nice long summer to get prepared for next season for us.

The other 50% wants him to go just so I can laugh at the 732 posts by the same person on here, whining like a puppy about the unfairness of it all.

100% of me thinks Wilshere should not be in the running to go to the euros

He can be an impact player from the bench at the Euro's. I would say he has to play the rest of Arsenals games this season to prove himself a place on the plane.

When he's fit he's a good player. When he's fit.

I wouldn't rely on either Wilshere or Walcott to get on and off a plane without injuring themselves. If we are going to risk selecting a sick note in the squad, then make it Sturridge.

Im not picking the team.

I dont see why you are finding this so difficult to fathom. I get that you dont want him to go but I dont understand your apparent lack of comprehension over the very concept.

I'm exactly the same with Rooney.

Knowing that it would genuinely ruin the enjoyment of the tournament for certain people on here if he's selected, and that they'd rather England lose if he starts just so they're proved 'right', makes me a lot more keen for him to be picked than would normally be the case.

Rooney will definitely go, there is no doubt about that.

Yeah my desire for both Rooney and Wilshere to go is partly fueled by this. Not entirely, but it is a factor.

Rooney should go based on the fact he was pretty damn useful in the qualifiers, Wilshere on the other hand needs to do a bit more at Arsenal these coming weeks to prove himself worthy.

Really ugly, cowardly foul by Carroll - well deserved yellow; Koscielny fortunate not to have sustained an unpleasant injury.

Arsenal playing a bit of a dangerous game at the back; Lanzini's just had a second goal disallowed for offside.

Not the best bit of defending as Ozil puts Arsenal ahead

slick goal from arsenal , ozil getting on the end of the type of pass he would usually be the supplier of

West Ham woeful, allow Koscielny to more or less stroll to just outside their penalty area which leads a moment or so later to Ozil scoring. West Ham playing like a team who will miss out on European football next season.

Fine finish from Alexis Sanchez but West Ham are just so, so easy to play through.

West Ham look to be mentally and physically spent. Hopefully they similarly roll over next week. Since the Spurs win they've been really mediocre

The hype possibly didn't help them- they were challenging for top 4 more down to United and Liverpool being sh1t than their own doing if we're truly honest

As for Arsenal I can see them going on a good run to finish the season but if an opportunity arose to win the league we all know they'd crumble

Interesting scoreline from upton park. Maybe the title race has taken a twist. Puts arsenal right back in it

Game on now.

Lets see what Arsenal are made of in the second half. Hopefully West ham are buoyed by that goal and come out much better. Couldn't have picked a better time to score
