Arsenal showing that they can defend as badly as West Ham 1-2

Make that 2-2

Arsenal's defending is a complete laughing stock.

Interesting scoreline from upton park. Maybe the title race has taken a twist. Puts arsenal right back in it
LOL I'd say you're gutted by West Ham's two goals!

Arsenal firmly stamping on the idea they could win the title - Champions league qualifiers and nothing more, again.

And that will remain the case until they actually bother to recognise and properly address their defensive frailties.

Like so many of their matches this so season, they've dominated but do not have a lead to show for it purely because they cannot mark properly.

Is it not title race back on I thought?

LOL Arsenal would blow it with a match left and 3 points clear with a 15 goal better GD than second place

Absolute zero steel or back bone to the team. Great when under zero pressure which is why they always make top 4 but never challenge for the title these days

I still think they'll get second as they'll win most their matches now that leicester pretty much have the league sewn up. If leicester slip so will Arsenal

I fully agree with what you have written, but would add that defence is the responsibility of the whole team and Coquelin aside, Arsenal have far too many players who seem to me to stroll around as though defending has absolutely nothing to do with them. Of course, some players can and should be excused from chasing back, but not everyone outside the formal defensive line.

Indeed, but that's the natural outcome you get when you put too much attacking emphasis into a team's style and general approach to the game.

Andy Carroll really is quite a thuggish footballer, isn't he?

Don't suppose it matters when he can get hat-tricks, though.

The problem is whenever Arsenal seem to finally learn something, they put it to the back of their minds, and the problem presents itself again.

What West Ham are doing is just a polished version of Bolton that Wenger couldn't get to grips with. Playing with a tall forward, crossing....

Even by Arsenal's own standards of capitulation, this is pretty impressive stuff.

Could be worse for Arsenal if the officials were having a decent game as well

Still think there will be more goals though
