Means everything as they could contribute to it going down to three champions league places for England

There's the 2nd. Game, set and match (and possibly the tie)?

At last, Liverpool get the second. Could be a big goal.
Shocking defending again from United, though. |

Woeful defending from Utd but was Henderson down the right wing slightly offside in the build up to that goal?

Difficult to argue Liverpool are not worth at least a two goal lead this match.

And are Tottenham a top three club year in year out? If they are maybe it's fair enough they shrug it off. But I don't think they are. Competitive for top four, yes, but I don't think they can guarantee a top three spot year in, year out. As I said, short term view from them.
Think people are worried about Leicester , Tottenham and maybe West Ham in the champions league but they get there on merit |

Great to see the Liverpool fans joking and smiling with Rojo in the first half when he went over to retrieve the ball . You normally see pure hatred in the opposing fan's faces these days .

Other than de Gea I cannot think of any United player who has been anything other than nondescript, (except Memphis who has been awful)..

Have you ever been to a game? They hate each other, what did you think they would do, blow kisses at each other?

Very comfortable win for Liverpool. The only disappointment for them is that it wasn't more than 2-0.
United had a shocker. |

Well, if you wanted stark, clinical evidence of how Manchester United have declined in the post-Ferguson era, there it was in a 90 minute nutshell.
Perhaps it's almost fitting that it should have happened at the home of their hated rivals and on a European stage. The only consolation for them is that they only conceded two goals rather than the seven they may have done had de Gea not had one of his inspired nights - and they're still in the tie as a result. Neither of tonight's sides will get even close to winning the Europa League though. |

Embarrassingly inadequate performance by United, scoreline of 2-0 flatters them. Of course, nothing at all to do with Van Gaal, who in my view should have been sacked before Christmas.

LOL Liverpool could have won by 4 or 5. United were a holy show
Tie completely over now, not a hope that United team is beating anyone half decent by 3 goals Well done Pool, great intensity and desire, even if still very limited. more than enough though here |

They are not but its key next season as Chelsea man united Liverpool man city may all sit out the champions league next season.
Think people are worried about Leicester , Tottenham and maybe West Ham in the champions league but they get there on merit I'm pretty sure Leicester and Spurs will make the top four so that leaves one place... unless Arsenal get a grip another side may slip in. |

I suppose that it might come down to the two Manchester sides being left in European competition after this round of fixtures.

That isn't great, it's a joke. The hatred is what makes it a great rivalry.

The managers summed up the different attitudes to the game I thought Pre-match.
Klopp saying "its the mother of all games" whilst Van Gaal sort of waffled on about the past not meaning much... |
