3 and a half years ago Celtic beat Barcelona, now they are in extra time against a second division team. Scottish football is unbelivably shit now.

I could take watching penalties now. Not sure Celtic could.

Usually because they've had squads big enough to cope with any major injuries and the extra games. Leicester are going to have to try and convince more than a few players to sign over the summer because they'll have four competitions to contend with.
I am not sure they will be too well equipped for the champions league but time will tell, they deserve their place in it

Rangers goalkeeper did very well not to deflect the free kick back into his own net there.

And it's penalties!

3 and a half years ago Celtic beat Barcelona, now they are in extra time against a second division team.
Is that not just because they've had no meaningful opposition in Scotland since that time following Rangers' demotion through the leagues?

Perhaps this match is the first sign of a new era of competitiveness in Scottish football.

Yes I know but they could have athletico Madrid as a second seed and the likes of borussia Dortmund as a third seed

Agreed but double the amount of pens as any other team, not being in Europe and out of both cups early plus least amount of injuries has probably helped as well.
he hasn't been the main penalty taker all season. mahrez was earlier until he started missing them.

he gets assists too.

I don't know what the fixture list since October has to do with it? Why October? Fixture lists are the same for all 20 teams.

Cups are won with luck. Lucky draws, last minute winners, unfair dismissal etc. Leagues are won by the best side
Of course they are, unless someone is going to claim Leicester having three of the players of the season (Mahrez, Vardy and Kante) as well as arguably the standout manager of the season is 'luck'..

My mistake actually, they didn't go out of the FA cup until late January but it's been one game a week since then when most of the other challengers have had Europe and/or domestic cups to contend with on top of the league.

That's not Leicester's problem though.
The other teams have bigger squads to deal with playing in multiple competitions.

Craig Gordon deserved that piece of luck after nearly keeping out the previous kick.

And Scott Brown has his penalty saved!

This is real footballing drama.

Scott Brown bottled a chance on ten minutes and bottles his penalty. Not exactly a captain's contribution.

You could tell he was going to miss that, he did not look at all confident as he walked up to the spot.

I said earlier that Rangers looked like they wanted it more and perhaps that makes it a just result; Celtic just looked sluggish and disinterested other than the two spells when they equalised.

Thoroughly enjoyable match, I thought.

Because I'm English and old enough to remember Italia '90 and Euro 96 and every other penalty shoot up heartbreak after that.
