Continuation of: Man United Supporters Thread (Part 49)

Funny how Varela who has done a decent job is now back to the bench when it suits.

Giving youth a chance my arse!
We have a tough schedule coming up now, and so there was always going to be a fair bit of rotation if and when it become possible to do so.

So whilst I agree that it is disappointing to see Varela not in the team, hopefully it is just a case of rotation and that we will see him in the team again soon.

This should be, but when has anything that should be come to fruition for us this season??

Let's see how many games he gets from now until the end of the season.

As soon as the injured players start returning I fully expect our starting eleven to be as predictable as ever.

We can't buy players though and not play them because of not wanting to upset the youngsters.

You can if the youngsters are playing better.

It's nothing to do with upsetting the youngsters, it's the fact that we've been hearing about LVG promoting youth when we all know they're only getting a sniff because of an injury crisis.

To be fair no one on here has said otherwise. It was always a stop gap.

If we've shelled out for a player they're always going to get first pick.

I don't have MUTV so I don't pay much attention to the youngsters but which have come through on their own merits and not because of injuries in the past?

For God's sake Mata. Cannot believe he's done that.

It'll be a miracle now if we win this one. Defeat is more likely. Draw's no good really. Damn.

Take heart. Arsenal got a draw from 2-1 down with 10, and Liverpool WON with 10.

Yeah but 55 and 62 minutes. Mata went at 30, we'll be knackered by the end.

As we saw with Liverpool, going down to 10 wakes everyone of that 10 up, and they play harder, our 10 men ran more KM.s than CP's 11 did.

Exactly what we didn't need going into the Lpool game.

The midfield was already softer than butter, and then Mata did that. For that first booking, I'd fine him for that. Forget about taking one for the team, you do that by fouling someone, that was just plain unforgivable.

Smalling looks like the injury break has done him some good, playing well again. Not sure where our goals will come from now, we were struggling before losing Mata.

The sending off doesn't seem to have changed things all that much, that might be a different story in the second half when the managers have done their thing and when we begin to tire. I wonder whether we might swap Rashford for Schneiderlin and just go for the draw. The only way we're going to score is if we draw them out and hit them on the break, and Martial, Herrera and Lingard can provide the pace.

Oh well, if we're sensible now we might as well try and rest important players for Thursday.

He'll blame the sending off if we lose this but we were doing absolutely fine until that nonsense of a substitution taking Herrera off.

Down to 10 men, but some pretty gutless subs by LVG.

He's got more lives than a cat. We'll win nothing with this berk because he hasn't a clue how to get past these kind of teams even with 11 men.
