69% possession and Schmeichel barely had to do anything in the 2nd half.
That's the end of the top 4 race. Hope Leicester win it now as they are a good team though today highlights just how far we have fallen since Sir Alex retired, if we had anything about us we should be winning this league comfortably given the strength of the league this season. Yes Leicester have done superb this season and i'm pleased for them that they have all but won the league but if any of the top clubs like ourselves, Chelsea, Man.City, Arsenal or Liverpool had anything about them there is no way they would of won it, it has been a poor season in terms of quality this season even if it has been exciting. I was looking earlier and apparently Leicester have the lowest possession rate, goal scoring rate, points per game rate as well as conceding more goals of any Champions in the last 10 to 12 years, so that highlights how poor United and the other top teams have been this season. Good luck to Leicester they deserve to win the league and deserve all the credit and i feel it is good for Football especially nowadays with the money spent that a small team with hardly any money spent can beat the big boys at there own game it is refreshing but from a United point of view it is as frustrating as hell. Hope this is the end of LVG at last. |

He should have got a penalty if the useless twit in black had any bottle.
I don't think having short cameo's does any player a favour. It's not like Lingard ' s on fire is it? |

He was effective today, and has been of late. He's never going to set the world alight, but he does the job and is a useful part of attacking trio. Depay hasn't done anything to take his place in the team, even when given the chance, I'd like to see him get more minutes, and LVG, if he had to take Lingard off, should have put Depay on instead of Mata.

I wonder what sort of speech LvG will give tomorrow evening, surely it won't top last year's one?!
I wouldn't put it totally past him to say we're still going to get in the top 4 and do the treble next season. |

A resignation speech would be a first at an awards ceremony. Not going to happen though.

His last speech was crazy enough, since this might be his last one with us, Lord only knows what he might say, hopefully it will be entertaining once again!
The fact that his speeches have been more entertaining than his teams play is just all manner of wrong, and is but just one reason why he should leave us, but still I am looking forward to it. De Gea should have the main award wrapped up for I think it will be the fourth year in a row. Goal of the season for me was Martial v Stoke I think it was, and young player of the year, well it has to be Rashford doesn't it? |

Not quite sure what the wisdom is having an awards ceremony before the season has even finished.

Our chance well and truly wasted. |

Tomorrow will just feel a bit deflated, seeing as we are in a battle for fifth place. I just think awards should all be done after the season has finished (not just ours, but PFA, FWA etc as well). |

Tbf we don't have any players who know what it's like to be champions anyway. Even 4th is out of our reach.

No it isn't. Win our last 3 games, 69 points. City (if they lose today) win 1, draw 1 (Ars home, Swansea away), 68 points. Difficult task though to win our last 3.
Any realistic chance of top 4 ended today. Hopefully we can get an FA Cup and Louis can do one. |

Goals scored in the PL in the past 5 seasons:
2011-12 (SAF's 2nd to last season): 89 2012-13 (SAF's last season): 86 2013-14 (Moyes/Giggs): 64 2014-15 (LVG): 62 2015-16 (LVG, 3 games to go): 43 What a fall. |

That would be that dreadful period over Christmas and the new year. |

Anybody seen LVG's interview? Only in "sex masochism" is hair pulling acceptable!

To be fair, we were playing the Champions, so as bad as a draw was in terms of missed, or dropped points, today was not the real cause for us not getting into fourth place.
That would be that dreadful period over Christmas and the new year. a generally poor season overall. It's the one step forward, two steps back that's done us. A big change is needed. |

Our away form, unproductive football has left us where we are today, we've been quite close to fourth spot for large parts of the season. We were practically level on points with City after beating them. The December shit fest is a smokescreen for
a generally poor season overall. It's the one step forward, two steps back that's done us. A big change is needed. This season has not been good enough at all, we should have been challenging for the top spots, not fighting with West Ham over fifth and sixth place. The only real positives to come out of it, are Martial, Rashford, Mensah, and of course De Gea. |

![]() It could easily go to the last day, with City needing to beat Swansea away then, and us likely to beat Bournemouth at home. Those two away games in 3 days at Norwich and West Ham worry me, though! We shall also see how we do without Fellaini... almost certainly judging by the fuss the media are making about him. |
