Well......Swansea certainly are doing us a small favour so far.
Could do us another one next week. Not so long ago City going there and getting 3 points on the final day looked like a formality. All the talk was about the City v Arsenal match with regards to how it could influence the race for the top 4 with hardly anything being said about how Swansea could do the same. Swansea's win against Liverpool and today's score so far has to change that. They look like they're rounding into a nice bit of form.

Not being funny but you asked that question recently and the offical answer is no.
Fair enough, I had hoped that something might have changed, probably for the best, give him the whole summer off, and come back raring to go at the start of next season.

By the way, can anyone fill me in, apart from Rooney's testimonial game, what other pre-season games have we currently got penciled in? Are we touring anywhere?

Yes indeed, if we can go into the last match of the season in fourth place with a two point lead of City, and with us at home to Bournemouth (and looking to get revenge over them for when they beat us at their place), hopefully that should be good enough to secure that fourth place, which would be remarkable.

Still a very long way to go yet, let's see what the Arsenal match brings tomorrow, as that will have a huge baring on what sort of match Tuesday becomes, as it could really become an irrelevant one if City win.

Erm, BBC website could, for starters. You must already know this.

Oops I didn't check there as I didn't think they would have them just yet.

My bad.

Saving themselves for their World Cup Final on Tuesday night.

I think we know what's coming.

Well it wouldn't be irrelevant unless you expect Swansea to roll over which based on today's result they won't.

Unfortunately yes, and with no elbows to combat them, it will be very hard indeed.

Just so I am not accused of bias or anything along those lines, (or a hypocrite of which I am not), to follow through with your examples of Giggs and/ or Scholes, and if they had decided to leave us at the tail end of the careers, then I would have hoped that the press and media would strike the right balance between paying homage to such great career(s), and showing or telling the viewers where they are going next, and where they can watch them play again next season, as if they were in this hypothetical example, still going to be playing, then that is what I would hopefully wish to at least come across in the message.

It is a hard one, as we are talking about a completely made up situation regarding Giggs and Scholes, so it is just a case of what each of us would wish for, rather than what actually happened, so we are placing a lot of faith in our own imaginations here.
I can only say what I would have liked to have seen happen, you might disagree, which would be fair enough.

I understand that Beckham or Robson are not direct comparisons, and I have said that in previous posts on this topic, and I understand that it is a topic close to your heart, and that is fair enough and very understandable.
Please don't take this the wrong way dear, but I've noticed that quite often you use the phrase I understand, and then anything you post afterwards tends not to show any understanding.

I was just wondering if you were aware of that.

Fair enough, I obviously would beg to differ somewhat!

The saying is whatever floats your boat.

I think you misunderstood my last post for what it's worth.

Apparently that today was our 19th away goal, what a criminally low total that is.

How is that even possible that we have such a low scoring total, and yet still be in contention for a Champions League place??

Madness really.
Another interesting stat I read was that yesterday was our first win in the league outside Manchester since we beat Liverpool at Anfield on January 16th. And yet if City don't beat Arsenal today 4th place is in our own hands. How does the adage go? If you can't be good, be lucky!

Will anyone be watching the Arsenal match today?

I might give it a miss, as I don't know if I can watch our top four hopes go up in smoke!

The silver lining to this smoke might be a change of manager?

You know who?

I think that I might watch Atletico Madrid on Sky 2 instead!

As for you know (makes me think of those Harry Potter films over who shall not be named!), well I long for a Frank De Boer, or a Koeman, heck even a Potch, sadly it does seem to be down to "him".

Frank De Boer has no premier league experience. What does Koeman have on his CV to suggest he has done enough for the Utd job?

We appointed a manager based on an underwhelming CV, we can't afford any more of those kind of mistakes.

You refer to Atletico Madrid but their manager is like Jose's younger brother when it comes to behaviour and his tactics are often highlighted as negative.

I'm not seeing any real selling points here Batty. Not that I wouldn't want Simeone because he would be the next on the list after Jose.

Our top four hopes will not go up in smoke, whatever the result is today.

There seems to be a lot of people keen to write off Man Utd for some reason!

Sorry, I only mentioned Madrid in terms of a game that I think that I will watch instead of the Arsenal one today, sorry for the mixed message or signal.

As for other managers, Sevilla's wouldn't be such a bad appointment either.

At the end of the day, I feel like an American in the Republican party not liking Trump (read "him" here), but forced to due to no other options.

Maybe not, but they can become a lot more difficult if City win.
