I'm not getting involved in yet another circle of tedious frustration and repetition. Think what you like, Batdude.
i think that is a wise decision as we don't know exactly what is wrong with him. you dont want to be responsible for him popping something.

We would look very foolish indeed if we sold him on the cheap, and Woodward sure like us to get good PR, so I can't really see us selling him for a lowish fee.

Who knows about his recent contract though, but if he does leave for a small fee there would be uproar I could very well imagine (even if you could hardly blame him for leaving this time).
He won't be leaving for less than 30 million. Assured.

I have tried to lay out my thoughts in a sensible and calm manner (despite feeling really angry and disappointed), so if you feel that way then that is slightly harsh.

Klopp was on a free transfer, so a slightly different situation, but we sure have "challenge" and "sleeping giant" written all over us, so if that is a motivating factor for someone, then we are ideally placed!
Oh no sleeping giants, back to the days Of Dave Sexton.

I really REALLY wish the players would stfu on social media.

Noone wants to see that crap again. Like Scholes said, DO it on the pitch and stop talking.

A player of his quality should not be leaving for anything less than £60 or £70 million in today's somewhat over inflated market prices.

There is only Neur that is better than him, and De Gea is on a long term deal, so personally speaking, I would be very disappointed, and think that we would have sold him "on the cheap", if we didn't get a very good deal for him.

The thread should not have a collective nervous break. A lot to ponder for Sunday's match with West Ham. For the first time in living memory West Ham will be clear favourites for that game. The pack will be shuffled again but Lvg has left himself a weak hand because of his clear out last summer.

Thankfully I wasn't around for that period in our history, so I will take your word for it!

It's not 'harsh' at all though. is it?

We've been down this road a thousand times. I know how it pans out, and I know how it ends.

As much as you profess to love 'good debates', my experience leads me to believe that you're incapable of having one that I can engage with. That's not a dig at you, it's just my opinion.

You are of course entitled to hold whatever opinion you like, I of course don't have to agree with it though.

Despite what you say, I am very capable of having good debates with you or anyone else, if I feel it is a topic That I can contribute towards.

Not unexpected. We've been moving on every game since Christmas.

We have a bunch of ostriches. From the pitch, to the dugout, to the board.

Yes, I am in agreement with you on this, we seem to have been stuck in a period of limbo since Sir Alex moved upstairs.

OK, with a team no where near as good as this and against a side much better than Liverpool, we came back and beat Barca from a 2-0 defeat in Europe many years ago... I think if I watch that game on youtube over and over for the next week or so, I'll convince myself that we can still go through.
We can score two goals at O/T but they'll probably score on the break or by us giving away a stupid penalty again, or a red card, and we won't score 4.

Let's face it, we are out.

Sorry I didn't quite follow the Blanc debate earlier.

He won't come because he's already well compensated both at his current club who, incidentally, are quite well at the moment?

So best look for a pauper who's never played the game who works for an organisation about to go under for our next boss then?

Van Gaal says Fellaini was the best man. He's absolutely deluded.

The man can't see beyond his own nose. Quite a feat for such a flat one!

It may go against the common consensus, but Fellaini was nowhere near our worst player, tonight.

Rashford and Martial were anonymous, Depay only came to life in the last 5 minutes, and Carrick was a disaster. Smalling was also pretty poor.

Fellaini is not what anyone thinks of as a 'United player', but he gets a colossal amount of unjustified stick, at times.

Being an attacking player under Van Gaal must be the same as being an erection in a convent

I can't believe our players are as bad as this, well I hope to god not.

He seems to have sucked the life out of them.

He actually got stuck in, and won the ball back a few times. He also wasn't far off with that header.

Varela was initially very good, but he faded towards the end.

De Gea by miles was our best player, how can anyone claim otherwise??

If not for him, the scoreline really could have been one of utter humiliation.

Fellini at least got a headed chance, which was more than most of our other attacking players did all evening.

Out of interest, which of the outfield players would you say had the best game?
