Leaving aside the need for a new manager, what this team is crying out for is a few actual men. Look at the performance on the coach and on the pitch tonight, a bunch of screeching little fannies who looked like they were on a primary school trip and who's collective arse went constantly when the pressure was on, and has done consistently this season.
Yeah experience is not exactly a word that you would associate with our first team (bar Rooney and Carrick), the rest are still fairly youngish, which in one way is good, but with youth comes fluctuations in form, and we really could have done with a bit more consistency in that area.

We might have to wait until after the cup final, as I doubt that the board will sack him whilst fourth is still mathematically possible.

Keane would have squeezed every one of their balls and told them to man up.

He needs to move into the midfield and we need to replace him with a big shit house centre half.

Too many players playing out of position in this team.
For a fair few that position is the the wrong team.

Blind does need to move, but to replace him, we need someone who can marshall Smalling. He needs someone who talks to him, Blind has done that well for the whole this year, but he isn't the long term answer. No matter what LVG tries telling us, Smalling isn't a leader, he needs leading. Note this may sound like a Smalling rant, but it isn't. He's played well this year, but when Blind has been poor and even last weekend when Blind wasn't around, Smalling hasn't been as good as he has been.

I don't think Rooney had to bad of a game, it's going to take a bit of time for him to be make his new role his own, but after that first 20 minutes he started to control everything we did, whilst not in the Scholes class, it was very much early Scholes in that role, and not to dissimilar to Carrick of a couple of seasons back. He needs players around him to be truly effective in that role, and the rest of the midfield isn't up to much to provide him with what he needs.

Why I want Ibrahimovic, the mad bastard would be perfect.

Even if it is just for one season, he would be able to teach Rashford a few things.

City still have to go to Swansea and get something, and let me tell you I'd love it if we beat them to fourth, love it.

It's not just 'mathematically possible', it's very possible, albeit less so than it was before tonight's match. If Swansea turn up, they can beat City. Question is, will they turn up or have they already gone on their holidays..

We have no back bone and lvg has to go. He dug his own grave. For us not to qualify for cl is a failure from him. Woodward knew this along time ago and failed to act and I can't see city getting beat on sunday. So bring Jose ASAP.

Well so far they have done well against Liverpool and West Ham, so there is hope, but that is all it is, hope, as knowing us we will muck it up against Bournemouth.
O-0 with one shot on target perhaps?!
That wouldn't surprise me very sadly.

Ach is Ibrahimovic really the answer? United need a few warriors and hatchet men. He's incredibly talented but I'd be dubious as to his commitment if the chips are down

Need to rebuild, not sign a guy who's done it all and his commitment might be questionable. You hardly want another Schweinsteiger.

Big window for United, might not be easy get back in the top 4. City, Spurs and Arsenal are surely well primed to take three places, surely Chelsea, and Liverpool will have ahuge say not to mention a West Ham, Southampton or leicester ( )

Something needs to be done, as this side has far too often proven that they are weakboned, and crumble under pressure.

It is just not good enough, and tonight was just yet again an example of that.

It would be almost poetic if, on Sunday, we won, City drew and we missed out on 4th on goal difference.

I can see us hearing about City drawing, and doing nothing at all to try and go for the win, same old plodding style.

I can see us winning and City grabbing a late equaliser at Swansea, and do us on GD. Again.

Disappointing tonight, but not unexpected. It was always a stretch to expect us to win three games in a row.

There's definitely something very compelling about him but the PL is a world away from Ligue 1 for a player of his vintage. No doubting his quality though.

Whilst Ibrahimovic is a top draw player, still among the best in Europe, I just hope we don't sign him or if we do, with the wages being quoted it's a pay as you play contract. I don't think he's the answer to our problems. At his age trying to adjust to the Premier League just may not happen, I get a sense of Veron and Di Maria all over again. Whilst we do need a forward who can score consistently, our biggest problem is still our midfield.

It's still fragile, it's still slow and lacking creativity. I may not be Carrick's biggest fan, but he did at least offer some creativity, but this year regardless of the injury it's been one year to many to rely on him. Schneiderlin has been a disappointment, Schwiny was doing OK till he got injured, and I fear we'll have the same next year from him. Mata and Herrera look great at times, but don't influence games as they should and are softer than butter. Fellaini, well he's Fellaini we could have done with him last night, but whilst I wanted him when he was at Everton, he's never quite reached the same levels at United. That leaves us with the youngsters, and whilst I think Lingard's done a decent job for us this year and can be a decent squad player for the next 2 or 3 years, till the next one comes through, I'm sure we can find an upgrade.

Oh and whilst this does sound almost like a broken record as I've been going on about the midfield for what seems like forever, it doesn't help in terms of creativity when the manager insists we play the way we do. Slow, patient, possession football is OK in Europe, but it doesn't cut the mustard in the Premier League, and it's been to our detriment.

Lots of absolute guff on the radio this morning about United's coach supposedly arriving late to the game. What a red herring that is!
It would not matter if they turned up 5 minutes to kick off, if it was their mistiming and had to change and get on with the game. They had the right to safe passage whatever the time.
