Lots of absolute guff on the radio this morning about United's coach supposedly arriving late to the game. What a red herring that is!
It would not matter if they turned up 5 minutes to kick off, if it was their mistiming and had to change and get on with the game. They had the right to safe passage whatever the time. Let's also add here that the way the media have been in a West Ham love in this past 2 or 3 months, with regards this ground move, they won't want to be too negative towards them now. It's a deflection tactic to blame United time keeping for this. |

I still can't believe we blew a lead and went on to lose a must win game with only 15 minutes to go. That takes a special kind of incompetence.
van Gaal obviously isn't going to get sacked yet but failure to get top 4 this season is nothing short of a disgrace, City almost handed it to us on a plate. I really hope he leaves the day after the cup final. |

We can't deny that they should have had a safe passage into the ground, but they seem to want to arrive at the very latest moment, and any delays will impact on kick off etc. We saw this at the Spurs game. It's a factor in what happened, as if they had left a bit earlier they may have got through easier. That said where were the police knowing that they would have lots of people without tickets around the ground last night owing to the occasion?

Just watching LVGs broken English post match presser.
How on earth the players can understand him I do not know. |

It appears that the team are just not capable of raising their game when it matters and the allegedly good defence have just let in another three goals to London clubs.
On the radio this morning it was commented that "the club seem to have no appetite for sacking LVG" and for the life of me I cannot understand why. Maybe as my wife said, briefly distracted from doing the Times crossword, they all get paid too much for doing too little.......

But LVG stated in his interview that they were "100 yards" behind the West Ham coach which got through. So what is right for one ought to be right for the other.
United's coach was delayed and attacked this time near to the ground, soon after the West Ham coach got though. Clearly the preparations were inadequate and only the club and police are responsible for that. Some posters (mainly in other threads) need to stop the victim blaming. |

The coach going down green street was always going to be targeted at that time with all the hammers getting hammered.
West Ham should ban those responsible and have Sullivan make a public apology. While we are at it LVG should say sorry and announce he will leave before the Bournemouth game. |

Sullivan has publicly said sorry to Man Utd on the West Ham website and said he'll ban for life any who threw bottles at the coach.

It could be worse, I mean after Liverpool's last title they went 2-6-6 in terms of league position. We've bettered that, and I'm guessing it won't be another 23 years before we win the league again.

I sure hope that you are right, as already we have slipped way too far down the pecking order, we should be looking to compete to win the league next season, not just hoping for fourth place once again.

We've just ended a unequaled period of success for any club in England, but we have no divine right to be win anything, nor to even be challenging. In some ways it's that type of thinking from us, and the way the media have gone on, which till this season has stopped everyone from thinking a smaller club can actually win the league.
I hope that more clubs like Leicester manage to change their mentality, and try to win every single game, rather then perhaps accepting defeat in some, and so push on up towards the higher places in the league. However, of course I will always prefer it, if we are back challenging for the title, all this fighting or squabbling over fourth place is not, or should not be considered acceptable for us, we should be aiming for better, there is no shame in saying that. |

Another depressing stat that came my way as I was checking my twitter feed, with Sunderland's third goal last night, they have now equalled our goal tally for the whole of the league campaign.
This is certainly something that we desperately need to sort out for next season, if we wish to improve on this current one. |

It's not a big club mentality. |

Twenty years still to go. I just hope it happens again in my lifetime, but competition is now very fierce. |
