Is this the first time a match has been abandoned due to a suspect package? I can't think of another time, but what about in the 70s at the height of the IRA.

Really shocking, still it is better that the match is abandoned than there potentially being a disaster and there being 100's or 1,000's of deaths that would be a disaster. It is horrible when a couple of idiots spoil the fun and enjoyment of 75,000 people.

I doubt if a bomb has been found it would damage the other side of the stadium should it go off. I suspect they left the other half in to stop a panic and a crush maybe.

I don't think they did. Now something has actually been found they are evacuating the whole stadium.

So.... as City are now almost certain to gain at least a point today, the replay (presumably some time next week) will be us trying to regain 5th. place. It will either muck up our Cup Final preparations or the players' holidays. Grrr.

Tomorrow is bit short notice isn't it?

Plus would be a tad unfair as we would have less time to prepare for the cup final them our opponents, better to have it after the cup final.
