Stan collymore reporting that more than one package found at OT. Terror threat classed as severe to life!

How would postponing the game until after the final be the fairest option? How would that be fair on Crystal Palace who will have played today and you didn't play at all, until after the game? Playing tomorrow is unfair because you'll have had a day less to rest and prepare, but playing after the final would also be unfair because Crystal Palace would have had less time to rest and prepare.

This is a very unusual situation for everyone (thank God), and that one way or another someone will have to be inconvenienced (unless the Palace game was called off today, but that didn't happen, and really it should have carried on as it has), but playing our game after the cup final is just about as sensible an idea as you are going to get I think.

I can see this being the start of airport style security at games.

Get there an hour before kick off - no more rolling up to games.

Because the advantage would lie with United?

The only Bournemouth fans will agree to playing tomorrow is if they are put up in an hotel as it also would not be cheap train fare that far.

Yes, someone will be inconvenienced in some way, that much is obvious. But you don't want the game to be tomorrow because that will be inconvenient to you but if it's after the final and inconveniences Crystal Palace that's fine?

Wont happen, monday/tuesday if it does go ahead for sure.

To be honest i want to win the fa cup but if a team cant get motivated within 3-4 days then that team shouldnt be playing at all. I do think your making too much a big deal out of it today.

Potentally 1000's of lifes saved and thats all the matters.

They're professional athletes, and they've played in Europe for most of the season, they'll be used to playing games with as little as three days rest, I'm sure they'd be able to handle it if they had a day less to rest than Crystal Palace. Five days is still a good length of time.

All that's happening now will be standard procedure.

Something will have to be sorted, and by the sounds of things, it is a very serious situation, and that could mean a fair bit of police work in and around the ground.

So the stadium could be out of action for a few days at least while the police and security services open up an investigation, as this will be a crime scene.

After that, then the authorities will have to arrange the match again, and hire people (extra security, extra stewards etc), all of that will take time, and presumably they will not want to be rushed, so in this extra ordinary event, holding the match after the cup final, is probably the best case scenario.

Yes it might be unfair on Palace in this case, but we are not talking about a normal situation here.

So suspected package believed to be a mobile phone Bomb squad doing Controlled Explosion according to Andy Mitten. I tend to agree with what was said before about IRA. M15 increased the threat level this week to severe so would not be at all surprised. Whilst i am annoyed at the game being Abandoned everyones Security is paramount.

Yes I'm aware how all this works, you don't have to explain it to me like I don't know. You also don't need to keep saying it's an unusual situation. I know. Everyone knows.

Your reply didn't really respond to anything I said, I wasn't talking about the aftermath of this whole thing.

You're saying it'd be unfair to have to play tomorrow because it would be inconvenient to Man United. If you play after the final it would be inconvenient to Crystal Palace, which you seem to be fine with. But if it were you being inconvenienced then that's unfair.

Meanwhile the "will we or won't we" torture goes on! I wouldn't be surprised to see City end up 1-1 with a Swansea goal incorrectly disallowed in the 4th. minute of injury time. Or a City loss and Bournemouth parking the bus in the replay!

It's a stark reminder of how vulnerable sports stadiums are with large numbers of people anonymously congregating. Starting the obvious I know but such a difficult situation to police against.

It would be unfair no matter which side is inconvenienced, but we are in a very unusual situation here, and so with us having to play this game, then I don't know how you go about it, whilst keeping everyone happy.

Someone, will be unhappy with the scheduling, no matter when it is eventually played, as we are in a bit of tight schedule at this time of the year.
