Not completely meaningless because if you lost the cup final and this game you would be coming into the Europa league three days after you play in China

I wonder if the game had gone ahead at the same time as city, what would have happened?

People posting speculation online, which spreads like wildfire nowadays sadly. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing but we are a few hours now after the initial evacuation, one would assume they'd have assessed by now whether it was real or not.

DM journo tweeting that it appears to have been an elaborate hoax device.

Just hope it was an absolute muppet or a rival fan being mindless than anything more serious like a dry run test.

Either way - they better find the person responsible and absolutely anihlate them.

Now that would be an excellent way to exit the Europe League before it properly starts, become part of our pre-season preparations, and improve our chances in the PL next season. Every cloud has a silver lining... though I want us to win the Cup. And beat Bournemouth.

Stan Collymore has tweeted that it will be on Tuesday at 8pm, bit of a quick turnaround that.

It has now been confirmed a lifelike device was found, but it was not viable ie a very clever hoax.

Hope they catch the muppet.

Some people are just sick in the head, this is just moronic on every level.

I hope whomever did this is found, and locked away for a very long time.

It could have been a nutjob rival fan, but it also bears the hallmarks of an IRA disruption campaign. Combined with the terror level threat from dissident republicans being raised this week, that would not be surprising. Unfortunate that some people are still stuck in the past, however.

Sky Sports News saying the very earliest it could be played is Wednesday, but that would be very unlikely with United in the FA Cup final next Saturday. My guess is probably a week Wednesday.

GMP won't want it a week on Wednesday, Bruce Springsteen is on at the Council House.

Ah but if Fellaini's available for the Bournemouth match, he could be crucial to our attempt to beat them 19-0!

Which might just be on if their entire first team and Under 21 squads have booked to fly off on their holidays tomorrow... and LVG is sacked tonight!

Hoax or not, it's done exactly what the perpetrator intended, and that's to cause maximum disruption.

Just politely ask him to play the following day then!

Can't see United wanting it this week though. Delayed player holidays I think!

But his fans will go on to a forum and cry it is not fair.

Not that it matters now, as it seems that the match has been confirmed as being on Tuesday at 8pm.

I wonder what sort of attendance we will get, as really the game doesn't have that much resting on it anymore, certainly I doubt that it will be anywhere near a sell out, which for the last game of the season would be really sad, and a very poor indictment of where LvG has taken us.

Today's tickets will be valid so a good attendance methinks.

Our team sheet will be interesting.

You still need to beat or draw with Bournemouth. If you lose to them and don't win the FA Cup, no European football next year.
