More enterprise being shown. I'm in severe danger of being entertained...

Rooney plays a forward ball. He really did. And Mata almost scored with his right foot. He nearly did.

Well I never.

Two class goals. Maybe Rashford will make the final squad after all...

Give the ball to Rashford in front of goal and good things may come.

Yeah I was thinking of him. Liverpool sold Torres to Chelsea not long after he signed a contract. Suárez signed a contract extension and left for Barcelona the following season.

In the case of Ronaldo I think there was an agreement that he'll give Man United one more season. Suárez may have had a similar agreement. De Gea stayed because of an administrative error, not out of love for Man United or because he changed his mind. The club will have wanted him to sign a contract so he didn't leave on a free, De Gea may well have agreed to that on the assumption that he'll be allowed to leave the following season, should an offer come in for him.

So do Man United enter the Europa League group stages or do they have to qualify

It's a great achievement to be fair. I have been really hard on him this season but since his latest return he has played well and seems to have got his touch and stamina back, even if the speed will never return. His passing today has better than I've seen in a long while.

Depay appears to have acquired a grass stain on his kit. I have alerted the media.

One extra goal every two games and we would be in the champions league,

Excellent Wayne Rooney. Fine 2nd half.

It didn't even require that much effort. Not throwing away a 3-1 lead at Newcastle would have been enough.

Despite being a largely terrible game, we've won at a canter.

Something we've not managed in a long time!

They are saying group stages but I thought that will only be the case if they win the FA cup

Ah. That was a bit of a crap way to end the night. Especially for De Gea.

Anyway, all round a good win and more postive play in the second half than in months of matches during this direfest of a season. Hopefully it's this United that turns up against Palace.

Rooney deservedly MOTM. Feels like ages since I last watched United play thinking "give it to Rooney".

LvG gets booed and then thanks the fans for "unconditional support."

I'm living in a parallel universe....

Well now that this league season is over with, we can look and say what a disappointing one it was in so many ways, but there are still positives to take, Martial, Rashford, B-J, and of course De Gea all did very, very well.
Mensah as well in his few appearances looked good enough to be in the first team, so we just need to bolster the ranks, and with a manager who let's us be more attack minded from the off.

Hopefully that means we will have something positive to look forward to next season.

No hostility being shown as LvG leads his "armeee" on a lap of honour. This pleases me, if that is to be his last memory of Old Trafford.

Perhaps Roy might take note of this.
