Because we are Manchester United. Nothing more than that.
Klopp went to Liverpool because they are Liverpool fc. United are 1 of the top 3 biggest clubs in the world. Also the challenge of winning in a different league would prove huge when all you have to do in France is turn up and get a result. |

A truly shocking performance that was from United. When you have United greats like Scholes and Ferdinand saying how poor United are you know its bad. Listen i have given LVG enough time, despite what people say he should have been sacked December 2015. The fact that the United board didnt want to sack him just bvecause they wanted to look like a club who dont sack there manager every year. So look at the posistion we are in now Virtually no chance of making the Top 4 this year, Virtually out of the Uefa Cup to Scum Scousers and it wouldnt surprise me one bit if West Ham beat us on Sunday. If any of you can defend LVG now this please go ahead. We are not a team who can now challenge for The Premier league or any other trophy. Shocking.

I'm not so certain of that at all.
Firstly Blanc and the PSG owners seem to have a fantastic relationship hence the renewed contract. They could go and get someone bigger than Blanc but they really believe in him. Walk away from a recently newly signed contract after the faith they have shown in him? Not a chance Secondly I think Blanc has genuine aspirations to win the CL or at least reach the final. He has a much better chance of doing that with PSG than he would with Utd in the short term. Thirdly The project at PSG is far from finished and I think Blanc is still probably thinking about the team he wants for the next couple of years. Does anyone dispute that he would be tempted? Timing matters as well. I believe Pep would of been hugely tempted by Utd but again the timing wasn't right simply cos City had already done all the work. Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona. If these teams come knocking you'd be insane to turn them down. PSG are not in that bracket. |

I am a "money man" and the thought of all that money down the pan makes me want to cry.

PSG will never be a bigger club than Manchester United no matter how much cash they throw at the team. Project or not, and new contract or not, you're in the wrong job if you don't answer United's call.

Don't see how it is a 'fact' that we haven't sacked him simply for appearances sake. |

times change, liverpool would have been in that bracket in 80s after all
United have lost out in signing enough big name players to clubs not on that esteemed list to clearly demonstrate that the mane alone is not enough in many cases. |

Surprised this hasn't been posted here:
Mourinho to join a 'new club' in July - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...-van-Gaal.html Only realistic options are us or Madrid. If we let him go it is an utter shambles. |

Really not sure they do. He was supposedly their sixth choice for manager and he's been on an unusually short term contract for a manager his entire time at PSG, being given a new 2 year deal with a few months left on your current one suggests that it's more they view him as their

He was not sacked as the Group of 4 had not collectively reached that decision.

I'd be happy for Van Gaal to go now. Would prefer him to actually.

We just have to grin and bear it, until the end of the season. If he was going to be sacked, he would have been. The only way that it changes is if we can no longer qualify for next season's Champions League (not that we're likely to, obviously). |

So next Thursday he is going to be sacked then?!
![]() ![]() ![]() Even then, if there is an agreement for Mourinho to come in at the end of the season, and Giggs refuses to fill in, then we're probably stuck with him regardless. Anyway, I don't think that it really matters. We're not doing anything significant this season, whoever is at the helm. |

Mathematically. That's what they did with Moyes.

As for Giggs not wanting to do it as an interim, well why not give it to Joyce, if it say just two or three games from the end of the season? Or even now? Yes, it might very well be a disruption to the Under 21 title challenge, but the first team is what matter most. I am coming round to the idea, that LvG staying here is now doing more harm than good, the atmosphere enveloping the club is becoming worse week on week. |

I honestly don't think that anyone gives even half a sh*t about the 'Under 21 title challenge', at this point. I tend to agree, about Van Gaal, but I don't see the harm in keeping him on, at this point. We're drifting to the end of the season, whatever happens. |

Perhaps Joyce wouldn't want to do it either? If he takes it on, and is a disaster, it could potentially threaten his standing at the club. See also: Carver, John.

Is the position that bad, that no-one would want to have "Manchester United first team manager/head coach" on their C.V. even for a brief period, have Moyes and LvG made it that toxic a role??? |

Surely there is someone that would do the job, even if it is only for 3 or four games (or less) at the club?
