I don't doubt there will be some glee amongst rival fans if we lose the cup final.

It won't stop me enjoying it when our rivals cock it up though.
Exactly, just enjoy each day as it comes, and yesterday was very much an evening of sheer delight from our perspective.

I'm never a fan of taking the pee out of another club's loss when you've got a big game yourself on the horizon. People in glass castles and all that.
Agree with you on this. I'm pleased/relieved they lost and it's fun to see some of their ex-players' comments bite them on the arse but I'm not going to take the piss just yet.

I never really get into it at work either. Some people who claim are Utd fans but in reality aren't - they never seem to go/watch it and come out with comments that they've obviously read in the media but when you try and have a conversation or challenge them they're lost - gob it off at City fans and I think how can you take the piss out of them losing in a CL semi final when we're nowhere near that standard anymore.

Let's be honest - we ALL enjoy it when our rivals fall on their faces - it's just that some do it more publicly than others or adopt different stances depending on their audience.

I personally keep my glee to myself if engaging with people I don't actually know - don't mind having a bit of fun with those that I do mind!

So if you lose at the weekend I won't dance on your grave like a rabid 5 year old in ANY thread. It's best that way.

Guess that means you're not a passionate Liverpool fan, then. I'm assuming that's how it works.

No, of course not. I've already said that I'm delighted that they lost.

It just feels a bit hollow 'celebrating' it, when we've had such a relatively abject season ourselves. That's just how I feel though, so if people want to make a big deal of it, that's up to them.
I'm not celebrating it, I'm just happy they lost.

I'm just a grown-up passionate Liverpool fan like your good self! As I said, most United fans on here are classily reserved (even gave us credit for the Dortmund/Villarreal performances). How they exhibit their understandable glee when we crash & burn is up to them - it's the few that wave their appendages in public that let themselves down (I include all clubs' fans in that of course).

Before anyone gets too excited anticipating the result on Saturday just remember Sunderland beat the great Leeds side, Wimbledon beat Liverpool and Wigan beat City not to mention some of our own unexpected reversals.

As for betting against one's own team there are pleny of occasions where I would happily lose a tenner to the bookies to see a United win but if they do not there is a few pints of consolation. My support has no bearing whatsoever on the results.

We should win but if the current Man U team is consistent in anything it's at disappointing you. I'll just watch the match and what will be will be.

Bolasie and Zaha are the key - keep them quiet (and Dann at corners) and you should win. I just want an exciting game (unlike the replay the last time you met in the final). Lee Martin's solitary professional goal?

We certainly know all about Zaha!

Hopefully we will have a plan for Bolaise, as he certainly is a skillful and dangerous player.

Christ you've just stolen someone's "hmmm if I remember rightly" moment!!

That's been on the hip for Saturday for months I bet.

Rojo & Matteo Darmian are both fit for tomorrow

I'm sure he has others lined up. Just checked and Martin also scored for Bangor but sure that counts. Pardew will be desperate to win Saturday (I'll let someone else finish that statement...).

That probably means that both will start that I imagine.

It'll be interesting to see if Fellaini is brought back.

If he is, you'd suspect that one of Carrick, Mata or Lingard will miss out. I hope that it's not Carrick.

Think he is guaranteed to start. Lingard will be the one to miss out I reckon.

I could definitely live with that, but I'd guess that Van Gaal might punt Mata.

Between Mourinho, Ibrahimovic, and Pogba, good to see we'll be taking the Europa League seriously

Yeah you might be right, just remembered he started ahead of Mata in the semi-final. I'd definitely prefer Mata though.

Carrick deserves one last appearance for us, hopefully he goes out as a winner.

Really?

That would be nice to have him back, but I would be shocked if that deal did come off, but in a nice way.
