Brilliant. Back on par with Arsenal!

And more life from the manager in 1 minute than we've seen in 2 years.
It was our record, Arsenal were just keeping it warm for us!

That's some great resolve to score the winner not just after the sending off, but after nearly conceding to Gayle moments earlier.

Congratulations - fitting a bit of quality won it at least. Palace just didn't have enough quality up front to make the most of their opportunities. Leicester City vs United in the Community Shield it is then.

So good to see us lift the old girl again. A real stinker of a season but a great ending.

Exactly so pleased to win the Cup again at times i thought we would never win it again it is a hell of a long time since 2004 that is for sure. I thought we had lost it when we went 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go and again when Smalling got sent off but fair play to the lads they showed real character. Overall it was a poor game and a poor performance a bit like the season overall i just hope it doesn't mean LVG stays because of this it is time for a change but well done to him for winning a trophy in a 4th different country despite his failings that is a superb achievement. So pleased tonight that we have won a trophy lets not worry about the future tonight and enjoy the fact that we won, Glory, Glory Man.Utd.

Down to 10 men, second half of extra time, home grown talent scores, it's like 1985 all over again....

I think I was calmer during the final minutes in Barca in 99, and the penalty shoot out in 08, than I was watching this game. It was starting to look as if it was our day, after hitting the post, having Clattenburg do his best to give Palace the cup. Then up pops the two from our discussions the other day. Mata and Lingard, they said in commentary that Mata was close to coming off just as he scored, and he was the one I was thinking of at that point for changes sake. Then Lingard goes and does that, we've seen him hit a few very good shots like that over the past season, but that one will live long in our memories.

Rooney again was outstanding, it's early days in this role, but to get rid of him would be the craziest thing ever, he'll get better and better in this role. I dare say he could have another 4 or 5 years in that role yet.

Great to win the Cup again after a really bad season. But lets be honest LVG still needs to go simply not getting in the CL is a failure. Smalling is a joke of a player too many times hes let United down so surely get rid. Will Woodward sack LVG now one can bloody only hope so.

So near enough everyone confirming Jose in next week. LVG won't be our manager next year. If it's true thanks for the cup..

He can go out on a high and the poor football can be forgotten.

A win all round.

That really is the best way to finish what has overall been a bit of a rubbish season all told.

It does give us a bit of a lift going into the start of next season.

If the news being reported is true then this could be our best day for a long time

Bit of a crass way to go about things if this José story is true.

Leaking it on the day, or just mere moments after we have win a trophy, surely there could have been a better way to go about the changing of managers??

Sky saying it's Mendes who's released this information - so I'd take it with caution.

It'll be interesting who Jose will buy if true as not many of the team are typical Mourinho players. Can't see Mata sticking around. Jose is a big improvement over LVG but it's not going to be a seamless transition by any stretch of the imagination.

So it's now being suggest that LVG will "retire" to make way for Jose, though of course he probably been asked to do so.

On a more comical note, did anyone else notice the lid of the cup go flying goodness knows where after Rooney and Carrick lifted the cup? I haven't seen a picture with it since we lifted it. Could be a bit of hefty repair bill coming the clubs way...
