It'll be interesting who Jose will buy if true as not many of the team are typical Mourinho players. Can't see Mata sticking around. Jose is a big improvement over LVG but it's not going to be a seamless transition by any stretch of the imagination.
Do we think Carrick is getting another 12 month deal? If not then it makes sense to keep him anyway. |

People need to grow up.
Van Gaal would have known what was coming. I doubt that he's massively bothered, to be honest. For all of the stick that the board take from some of our 'supporters', they seem to act bloody swiftly, when the Champions League is out of reach. |

With José having the same agent as De Gea in Mendes (if I am not mistaken), hopefully that will mean that De Gea will not be leaving us.

Huh, I am enjoying today, and the cup final win, it has been a great day.
I just wish that this news could have waited until tomorrow, as it has taken some of the headlines away from the cup win. Also what did you mean by "and so it begins", in your previous post quoting me?? |

I don't understand what you mean about the headlines. Yes as Utd fans we're enjoying the day. I won't wake up tomorrow and be jaded by Jose being a bigger headline. For most of us it's actually more important.
No worries. |

Van Gaal's not daft, he's well aware of what's been going on and is supposedly still as friendly as ever with Mourinho.

Paddy is blowing his top on Radio Five right now! He's incandescent at Dan Rowan and demanding to know his source!

I just can't see Mata and Jose working out after what happened at Chelsea - Mata will never work back as hard as Jose wants. I'd fear for any player that lacks legs and/or physicality to be honest. Could be a busy summer for you guys as I don't think this early appointment is a coincidence.

Van Gaal will have known about the arrangement beforehand, as has been said. The main thing for him was leaving with a trophy, and he's done that. He can now leave, and retire, knowing he's won some silverware, and Man United's first trophy since Ferguson retired.
People won't be looking back at this season in ten years and remember it as the day those nasty journalists spoiled LvG's big day, it'll be remembered for Man United winning a trophy, and possibly it being LvG's last game for Man United, and possibly football in general. |

Mata left Chelsea because he wasn't deemed as effective as Oscar and hazard and mourinho didn't want to play all 3. United don't have a hazard and an Oscar so I don't think it's a given that mata is our the door.

So do you think Mata will leave this summer and what about Rashford, will he play for Man United again or will go out on loan or something

My family support Man U. but they absolutely loath Mourinho. They won't be supporting them while Mourinho's their manager.

I must confess, before the match I was fairly nonchalant thinking that at least if we lost LVG would definitely be on the next plane to the Netherlands. But when Mata equalised, I dared to dream and as for the winning goal - the roof almost came off! It's not ideal that the news about Mourinho is leaked today but to be honest, I'm not fussed. LVG must have known that his days were numbered unless Woodward totally bottled it. For me this is all just a good day's work. |

I guess this is how the Americans feel just as Trump is about to be announced as their President!
They won't really remember how they got to this point, just that it actually happened. I guess we are in for a ride and a half now with José in charge. I like Mourinho, he can play dirty but he does what's necessary to win. There's nothing I find likeable about the other guy. |
