If we had to pay a fee on top of paying Zlatan whatever amounts per week, then that would be something that would put me off of signing him, but getting him on a free for a year or maybe two tops, wouldn't be such a bad deal all told.
If it works out great, if not, then he is not here for that long, so it wouldn't hurt us that much from a purely playing perspective. |

I know that the French league is definitely of a lower quality to the Premier League, and PSG are in a different galaxy compared to the rest of the teams, but according to what I heard Zlatan himself scored fifty goals last season, us as a whole in the league only scored forty nine goals!
So even if he cut in half his goal tally, that would still be way more effective than anything we had this season! |

Utter BS - it's really hard to tradmark an individual's name unless it's 'distinctive' and/also the name of a business.
And why would he allow it as they have sacked him twice! ![]() Apparently you can copyright someone's name, totally shocked as to why anyone would not put an end/conditional clause into that contract? |

17 years on and that match in Barca is still as vivid as ever.

I just jumped up and down for pure joy and happiness, so much in fact that I broke a light fitting that was directly above my head, and which in the end cost a bit to get fixed once again, and since I was only a wee nipper back then, that resulted in me being grounded and not being able to go to the bus parade, which I was gutted about at the time.

I can still remember going a bit ott when Ole scored! ![]() ![]() Yeah me too. I'd just popped upstairs for a moment to fetch something, can't remember what, thinking extra time was a cert when my partner shouted United had scored. I nearly fell down the stairs racing back down, I think I took them three at a time! ![]() Happy days.

Seems Martial's goal at home to Stoke has won the goal of the season award, very well deserved, as it was a great goal.

I see Zlatan is being fairly tight-lipped about United questions at his press conference today... enigmatic if you like (BBC Sportsday): "...confirmed in Swedish that he had received a concrete offer from the Premier League. After answering a succession of questions in English about Jose Mourinho, Ibrahimovic was asked specifically about whether United had made an offer. He drummed his fingers on the table for quite a while, deciding what to say, before settling for "let’s see what happens". It wasn’t a yes. But it certainly was not a no." |

Thinking about it, if Giggs stays on in whatever job he gets, then if Zlatan does join us, this will be the first time in a long while that he will be at a club where someone has won more league titles than him!

Are we really going to get Zlatan i mean the guy is a great player no disputing that but come on he is 34 are we going forward or moving back. Im sorry but wasnt we supposed to be giving youth a chance with Rashford and Martial. We really do need to get things in Perspective here and end this chase for Zlatan. LVG has his faults but at least he gave the youth players a chance.

Ibrahimovic can come in for a year or two, and bridge the gap. Rashford will still get games, and Martial will almost certainly play most of the time. It actually makes a fair bit of sense, to me. |

Martial plays out wide, and Rashford is 18. It's quite feasible that Rashford could have a lean spell next year, or get injured. We can't be relying on such a young kid, in every game.

I think Zlatan would be a great signing. He's got a huge ego and that's something United have missed. He's also charismatic so the squad will look up to him, and it'll be great for Martial and Rashford (amongst others) to learn from him.

So he would be an important capture I think, even moreso than his longer term on field performances. Short term will do nicely, for now - remember RVP's first season?

The money suits at OT want a big name signing, someone who, with Mourinho, will announce to the World "United are back!" and for the suits, that's more important right now than delaying the development of one of our young guns. Twilight of his career or not, Ibra is still a huge name in World football, the one who is immediately available, and it would send out a message they want the World to hear.

Short term will do nicely, for now - remember RVP's first season? ![]() Zlatan will do the job and there is no downside to this transfer. Its a free transfer who is respected heavily by Mourinho, hes won 9 league titles in 10 years (in three different leagues) who on the planet can actually say that? (Rangers players dont count). There is no language barrier at all and in fact can speak many languages which is a benefit in a multinational team. The only downside anyone can mention is his age, yet he is still doing it for Sweden and he is right its just a number. Some of the greats performed at a similar age yet we forget this. Look at Scholes, Giggs, Van Der Sar and then further abroad Maldini etc. We all know what Zlatan wants and thats the Premier League trophy. If at the end of the day he gets what he wants then who cares how old he is. As for Rashford etc theyll learn more with one or two seasons with Zlatan then they will with most players, if anything itll benefit them and eases the expections on them but putting the spotlight on Zlatan, who has proven he can handle it. |

Sky Sports News are reporting that Jose has signed his United contract... more details awaited.
I wonder if the club are ready to respond quickly this time? ! |

If they make us wait for a statement until the opening of the NY stock exchange tomorrow afternoon it will be utterly pathetic. Heck it's currently open and the news is out there so I don't see why they should.
