The good news just keeps on coming!

Great to see B-J sign a new longer term deal!

And Rashford has signed a new long-term deal as well, this really is a good news day!

Presumably this was shot before he became our manager?!

He was at Carrington today. There's a pic of him - taken by his daughter - carrying what looks like a carrier bag of stuf from the Megastore!

Someone said I hope he remembered to take his club card to get 10% off! lol!
Would've been brilliant if he had been in the shop and other shoppers saw him and thought no, it couldn't possibly be HIM.

On the Paddy Crerand Show on MUTV at 6.30 you can 'see him arriving at Old Trafford' there was a bit of film on twitter of him walking in the door and greeting a few people.

That's brilliant. lol So many people have said Woody will be wetting his lips having this man as manager, with all the sponsor deals he comes up with, the boss can take part in advertising them!

I see that Stam is wanting to come to this country, we could do a lot worse then get him!

I always did prefer Stam to Vidic.
Stam was a truly great defender wasn't he . I recall seeing Alan Shearer ( I think ) backing into Stam and Stam holding his ground and just looking down on him like he was a child.

Any news on Ibrahimovic.

Speaking of Paddy, I wouldn't mind seeing one of his comedy (not intentionally though) one on one interviews with José, that would be a good watch!

I think Ed is just as big a muppet as some of us tbh. He looks chuffed to bits in those photos with Jose today.

He just 'revealed' that Carrick had been given an extra year and Sullivan was saying there's nothing official announced about that! lol As they keep reiterating since then as if they've let out a secret.

Crerand was just going by the paper talk, (as he admitted himself) the thought of anyone on MUTV ever knowing any 'inside info' is a joke!

I don't know how many people have seen it here, but to those that have, a quick question, when the team is being shown in the retro kits near the beginning of the film, why is Giggs the only one who has the sponsors logo and club badge blurred out?

Rather have Vida back tbh. The bunch of fairies we have now are a stark contrast to the blood and thunder magnificence of Vida. Smalling and Blind wouldn't know what hit them.
I would have any of our hard men who liked to get stuck in back, Stam, Vidic, Keano even dear old Darren Fletcher - if they could effectively communicate how they played the game to others. Rio wasn't that type, but listening to him he does seem thoughtful about the game and what makes players tick and how they can play better- especially defensively.

I see that Stam is wanting to come to this country, we could do a lot worse then get him!

There's not much in it but so did I. Stam was faster and never got skinned like Vidic did. Only player SAF admitted he let go too early as well. Already a pretty good coach by all acoounts. But he'll be a manager somewhere. Top dutch ex-players seem to see shouting from the dug-out as the holy grail of their footballing careers rather than boring people from a TV studio couch. Why is that?

Both the club and Rashford would have been nuts not to work out a new deal but the future for CBJ seemed a lot more uncertain by all accounts. So glad both re-signings have been completed.

Rio hasn't had any coaching experience, how do we know he's a good coach?? All the arguments about Giggs can be used against Rio.

I'm not adverse to it happening, however don't build Rio up, if you are wanting Giggs out.

You would imagine there would be some basis for hiring Ferdinand rather than Mourinho picking his name out of a hat of former players.

I haven't heard if Rio has done his badges, at least Giggs has got all of his (I think he has the top one as well).

Ability maybe, but personality?

Apples and oranges Tribec. Personally, I have never questioned Giggs coaching credentials and I don't want him out of OT on that basis. Management however, as fantastic coaches like Brian kidd, Steve McClaren and Carlos Quieroz have proved, is a whole different animal. And as I have many doubts over Giggs capabilities to step up, I would definitely prefer him to earn his spurs elsewhere. Even if he flops at first like GNev, I'd have more respect for him.

We don't know Rio is a good coach. We do know he is doing his badges and that he seems to talk sense on TV. I don't know if he's gone far enough with his badges to qualify to coach at OT, but if he has, it's worth giving him a try on the same basis that Giggs was hired.

You would imagine there would be some basis for hiring Ferdinand rather than Mourinho picking his name out of a hat of former players.
I thought he made the offer to Giggs because he has a good relationship with him, but apparently when Jose moves clubs he likes to hire as many rational, long-standing former players (because they understand the way the club works) as possible. So Rio is an entirely sensible move.

I'm yet to be convinced by Rooney in midfield, hoping that Jose is not too precious about him playing all the time.
I can't help but think playing midfield for England is setting him up to be the whipping boy (again)......

I wonder if Rooney will continue to be our captain under José, or will someone else get the job?

I can't think of too many other candidates for the tole however (Smalling??).

I don't think Rio has designs on being the next Utd manager.

Not a good idea having someone around that is basically waiting for someone to fail to get a chance. All the constant drip feed of Giggsy is great by Yorke and co has been tedious in the extreme.

Mourinho: “I won’t be signing any player from Portugal.”

No idea if he means players from the Portuguese league, or Portuguese players.

Looks like my dream of us signing Nuno Gomes ain't going to happen...

Does he mean whilst he is there, is he on holiday over there or something?

I've means no one from the actual Portuguese league, no wonder Bayern signed Sanches then.

Odd stance, but then Mourinho seems the kind of guy that'd fall out with a whole country.

The Renato Sanches thing makes more sense now.

Nani's dreams of a return have just been crushed.
