Apples and oranges Tribec. Personally, I have never questioned Giggs
coaching credentials and I don't want him out of OT on that basis. Management however, as fantastic coaches like Brian kidd, Steve McClaren and Carlos Quieroz have proved, is a whole different animal. And as I have many doubts over Giggs capabilities to step up, I would definitely prefer him to earn his spurs elsewhere. Even if he flops at first like GNev, I'd have more respect for him.
We don't know Rio is a good coach. We do know he is doing his badges and that he seems to talk sense on TV. I don't know if he's gone far enough with his badges to qualify to coach at OT, but if he has, it's worth giving him a try on the same basis that Giggs was hired.

I thought he made the offer to Giggs because he has a good relationship with him, but apparently when Jose moves clubs he likes to hire as many rational, long-standing former players (because they understand the way the club works) as possible. So Rio is an entirely sensible move.
