Errr..........I have not personally experienced food poisoning before, but does it really leave the person with cuts to their head???

No, food poisoning in itself does not cause cuts the head. Im almost 100% sure that as a functioning adult you know this already.

The Matuidi stuff came from the French equivalent of Goal.com.

I don't know what Lingard did wrong last season for Mourinho to want to stack his position up so quickly.

I think being rank average was probably enough.

I reckon that it was his goal celebration.

No-one wants to see that kind of behaviour.

That nonsense on the bus at West Ham probably didn't help. Fergie or Keane would have launched him through the window.

I thought he was geting better with every game, his interchanges with Martial and Rashford were really good at times.

So we should be stocking up in every position apart from Goalkeeper and left wing then....

You don't think Smalling played as one of the best CBs in the league last season? (and we've bought another CB anyway).

Shaw was superb until struck down with injury.

Lots of rumours about us signing a CM...

No Smalling wasn't one of the best CB's in the league. He improved a great deal, but he isn't complete and there are better out there. He was also a lot more consistent than in previous years, and without wishing to tempt fate, got lucky in that he didn't get injured like he has done in previous years. If he carries on improving like he has done, then we've got a great CB on our hands, but he's still got work to do.

Don't be ridiculous. We have an excellent squad of players.

Apart from De Gea and Martial, no one was above average and that was the quote I was responding to. Lingard was probably better than most of the squad last year, it's just another scape goat for what ever reason and that doesn't include what happened on the bus, as it was already happening before then.

If anything the squad we had was good, far from average, but also far from excellent.

Shocked Mourinho said it wasn't his "dream job".. everyone thought it was! sounds like he is still hurting from getting sacked from his first true love Chelsea.. still misses them from his comments.

And he basically trashed Wayne Rooney, which I'm happy about as I want him sold. He is stinking the place up for far too long ! or Rooney as a squad player at best..

Not your typical Mourinho press conference.. he looked downbeat I thought. Calling himself "the different one" (the media was expecting something better) and not as brash as his first press conferences at Chelsea.

It started badly with him having problems with his chair.. hopefully not a sign of things to come ! you can tell he isn't totally fabricated in Manchester United yet and everyone behind the scenes (Sir Bobby etc) but let's hope he does a good job !

That's certainly an imaginative version of events.

So Rooney is back to being classed as a striker under José, hopefully that will be a good thing, although how that now impacts on Rashford playing up front is yet to be seen.

Isn't that the same celebration that Pogba does, if so then that doesn't seem to be the case.

Nope - people would think he was a prick as well.

The powers that be at Manchester United must have watched that press conference today and wondered why they didn't appoint Mourinho 3 years ago.

4 big, proper signings is ideal for any club. Enough to reshape the team but any more would be too many to gel together. A solid message to Wayne Rooney too - perform as a striker or you wont be playing at all. Also getting all transfer business done early as a matter of priority gives maximum time for the team to work together.

I think the other big sides will have to start worrying about Manchester United again.

Not many smiles from José, just it seemed a solid determination to get to work, and to get the job done.

Still not really sold on him and those 49 players he claims to have helped develop from the youth team, wasn't one of them Loftus-Cheek only given a single minute in injury time?

Still, got to hope that what he says holds true, and that he will blood the youngsters.

Also his teams tend to have a good home record, I hope that is the case once again, it would be great to have teams fearing coming here once more.

One thing else from that press conference, he says that during his time he has not experienced many injuries, well with Jones still here, that is bound to change!

Why is there this obsession with blooding youngsters? His job is to win, not to blood young players. He will play the xi guys that give him the best opportunity to do that, and that will be what he is judged on, nothing else.

From a purely personal point of view, and I guess that is what it comes down to, and you may very well disagree, and that is fine and dandy, I like to see the younger more talented players given a chance, rather than just going out and purchasing ready made players so to speak.

We have got a few that are on the cusp of making that breakthrough if given that chance, and I hope that they are given that chance, from there it is down to them to take it, and show what they are capable of.

Again from a personal point of view, I always enjoy seeing us win and performing well more, when there is a young player in the side.
Others might still enjoy a win just as much if there were eleven purchased players in the team, but again that is just personal preference, and mine will always be slanted towards the youth.

If you want young players in the team then you have to change the target. You cant expect immediate success AND blooding youngsters. There is a massive difference between playing young players who are good enough like Martial and perhaps Rashford and playing any young players simply because its expected.

Mourinho doesn't have time to blood young players. Moyes got less than a season, Van Gaal got less than two.
