Was just saying from a non Man Utd fan that no player is worth that much.
You used that as a not-so-thinly-veiled excuse to post some 'celebrity' crap that nobody gives a sh*t about. |

Not if you are insisting on the young players being given their chance as per your posts from the other day.
Not really, if you look at say our most famous period during the "You will not win anything with kids", we had bought Schmeichel, Cantona, Bruce, Pallister etc, so you can buy players whilst also blooding in the younger ones. Today of course is a lot harder, as the standards required are just so much higher, as are the risks in doing so, but if you have the talent of say a TFM, or a Tunazabe, then it would be a shame to not actually try them out. |

That's a fair concern. I can't see him being as flaky as Di Maria, by any degree of the imagination, but I think that it's very reasonable to suggest that he might see it as a highly-paid stepping stone.

I will believe it when and if it happens, somehow just can't see him wanting to return to United but i might be wrong money talks i suppose, i still expect to see him at Real Madrid next season. I think it will come down to whether Madrid are prepared to pay the money Juventus want £100 million is stupid money and in my opinion no player is worth that not even Ronaldo or Messi, Pogba would be a great signing though and i hope it goes through as we would have a fantastic player.

Probably best that we never sign anyone, then. Especially from abroad.
Batdude can have his dream of a team made up of kids from Salford, whilst we plummet down the leagues. ![]() They have to be good enough to warrant being in the first team, first and foremost, so if they were of that category, why would we tumble down the leagues?? |

I dont see that. If he didn't want to come to Man Utd and he wanted Real Madrid he could wait. If Real dont fancy paying £100m for him right now I dont think they are going to be too keen to take him at that price or more later on. I dont think it will be a huge loss maker for Man Utd whatever happens.
However, we can offer him way more than Juventus, in terms of wages. It may well be that the timing's just wrong for Madrid to be blowing that kind of dough, right now. Besides, I said it was a 'reasonable concern', not that I definitely think that it would be the case. |

Real do seem to like having the World record transfer as their little baby, they have had it so often in recent times, that it wouldn't really come as a shock if they broke their own record (or Barca's with Neymar, it is hard to know for sure which one is currently the record holder) with Bale. In a world where Benteke and Deeney are £30m+ its hard not to see Pogba at £100m!
Now if only we could get that sort of figure for Fellaini!! |

Those players were already there and established then you dont need me to tell you that. The Summer those kids came through the world was screaming for you to replace the players you sold with big name signings and you didn't. So doing both doesn't go hand in hand unless you are planning on changing an entire team year on year.
If not, then of course we shouldn't just play them for the sake of it (hence why it was a tad strange, and mystifying as to the famous or infamous Powell for Mata sub in the Champions League last season). Quote:
Do you take everything that literally?
You still haven't said why if the players were of a good enough standard, we would tumble down the leagues however.

I don't need to 'say'.
It's called 'exaggeration for comic effect'. Jesus. Again, I have only ever said that youth players should be given a chance if they have proven themselves to be worthy of being given that chance, quite how that is worthy of being mocked for comedic effect I don't know. |

It will be good if Germany win tonight as it'll be good to see a current player (Schweinsteiger, who plays for us) doing well that is for sue!
It will also be good if France win tonight as it'll be good to see an old player (Evra who used to play for us) doing well, I'd certainly say! It will be good also if France win as it'll be good to see an old player (Pogba, who used to play for us) doing well and a player who might once again play for us (Pogba, who we're linked to) doing well, on that we can all agree! |

United's first 6 PL games are live on telly. Yay! 4 on SS, 2 on BT.
Including the friday night game against Southampton on August 19. Funny, though. Someone put up a list of United games live on telly up to the end of the year and the Liverpool game on Oct 15 wasn't listed - the Chelsea game on Oct 22 was. Either they moved the Liverpool game or the person writing the list missed it off, surely. Can't imagine the Liverpool game not being on telly. But as it is, first 6 games Live on telly against Bournemouth, Southampton, Hull, Man City, Watford and Leicester. First game is at 1.30pm on Sunday August 14. I'm sure some people will complain about having to wait until Sunday for the first game! The Manchester Derby is at 12.30 on Sat Sept 10. |
