I'd be surprised if we went for another striker. We have Ibrahimovic, Marital, Rashford, Rooney plus we've added Mkhitaryan who's handy in front of goal, as theoreticaly is Memphis.
I think that we were talking about in a years time, when since Ibra has only signed one year deal, we would be thinking about his possible replacement.

At the moment, with José seeing Rooney as a striker, we possibly (and hopefully) have enough to get by this season now as things currently stand.

Does anyone else keep forgetting that Ashley Young is still at the club?

Can't see much game time for him, this season.

I hate how people keep on referring to Ed Woodward to be honest, I think it's dismissive of the manager in a way. I don't recall "ooh, who'll Marty sign this year?" during the Fergie years.

Mourinho is the manager, he's the one that sanctions who to go get, Woodward is just responsible for trying to make it happen, so let's stop talking about him as if he's the manager and Jose is just the hired help who puts the cones out.

He will hopefully have learned from his year with Ibra, and be a better player than he currently is, (scary thought for other teams!) and the addition of another striker to replace Ibra, will only reinforce our firepower, not lesson it.
The point is a years time Rashford could be the replacement for Ibrahimovic.

José said he is not a fan of "multi-functional players", so unless Young goes back to just being a winger, then it is hard to see where he fits in really, as unlike with LvG, I cannot see José playing him at full/wingback.

It will be tough I think for him and Memphis this season, and both might not be here come the end if January, nevermind this time next year.

True, but I also think we will go for another striker no matter what, as we will be one down on our current numbers, once Ibra leaves.

Long-term i'd maybe like to see Martial and Rashford as the wide forwards with someone like Lukaku as a focal point in the middle making the most of those two being able to pull the defenders every which way.

Let's see how Rashford develops this season under José, and with Ibra there to help him along, hopefully he will improve, as that would be fantastic if so.

This is the very difficult second season for him now, he is no longer a surprise as such, and so, he will have to overcome that, and if he can, then we will have a very good option on our hands.

The "outs" could be as interesting as the "ins" this summer if a fair few of them depart, of which those two could be part of that process.

Many thanks for your question, and your concern, I am feeling a fair bit better now, and I have one two irons in the fire so to speak on the work front.

As somebody who constantly complains about the excessive wages paid to footballers I thought I would comment that I have just seen a two door Rolls Royce coupe (about a weeks pay £250k ) with the number plate W4YNE.

Could not see clearly through the window but my neighbour is called Wayne and he says it must belong to somebody else who might play football.....

Anybody know for sure?

It is not so much the excessive fees to footballers that perhaps you should be complaining about, rather the fees to agents!

oh who cares what the club pays to people. Its the modern world. Its not our money so we either pay it and compete or dont and die.

But that's not a 'living wage' for anyone, anymore.

Football players live a cut-throat life. Don't do the business? Shipped off.

The very best deserve to earn the very best money on offer. It's not public money. If a club decides to pay someone £300,000 a week, so what? The nurses are unaffected. So are the soldiers. In fact, they're probably better off, due to the huge tax bills that these guys are slapped with.

I can't tell you how much I hate this argument. Rugby/tennis/bowls players don't earn that kind of money, because no-one cares. People care about football, and they want to see the best.

It's private money, generating public money. Everyone should be f***ing delighted.

Wayne Rooney spent £250k on a car? Well I have two and I can tell you whilst neither are very flash they both cost me more than a weeks wages to buy so perhaps I'm the extravagant one and Wayne Rooney is being sensible.

Sorry it just bugs me a little when people talk about footballers cars when proportionally they are spending far less of their income on them than the average man on the street does on his non flash vehicle!
