Question to those here, if, and it is still an if at this stage, we do end up signing Pogba back, what would our ideal team be then??
Something like this?? De Gea Shaw Bailly Smalling Darmian Schneiderlin Pogba Rooney Mik Martial Ibra Or would something else be a better team?? I was just trying to work out how we would fit the new players together with what we currently have here, obviously some will leave I would think, which will make the task a tiny bit simpler though. De Gea
Darmian Smalling Bailly Shaw Schneiderlin (signing) Mkhitaryan Rooney Martial Zlatan No problems, just curious, are my eyes deceiving me, or do I really need to go to the opticians?? |

Correct. There's no difference in personnel, just in formation.
I read yours as a 4-3-3 with Rooney in a proper midfield role (apologies if I've misinterpreted), whereas mine was a 4-2-3-1 with him playing just behind Zlatan. |

Hang on a minute, just double checking, what difference, is there between the two teams mentioned above apart from the space for a new signing (where I included Pogba in mine) is there?? (Rooney on a different line??)

God forbid someone posts something that might be similar to something you've said. It's not like you've ever done that before, is it?
You asked, he answered, but in his own formation. |

Sorry I must have put the space in the wrong place, my humble apologies for that. I was trying to put him behind Ibra, so in a similar role to the one that you mentioned. I wonder where that leaves players like Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Carrick, and Herrera?? All just fighting for a place on the bench?? That would be some high earning players not playing then! |

is no-one else allowed to post their formation on your blog? Forgive me but you did ask for peoples opinions as to the team make up next season didnt you? My eyes dont decieve me on that?

You asked, he answered, but in his own formation. I had no issues at all with his or anyone else's possible team, where is this hatred that you both seem to think that I have for other people's opinions coming from?? I most certainly do not have any issues with his team or opinion, just as I wouldn't with anyone else's. I was merely seeking a simple clarification, that was all. |

No you didnt and even if it did James is perfectly entitles to post his team just as you have done yourself. Isnt that what you are normally telling people you are allowed to do?

Thanks for posting Cantona's message.
It sums up what made him so special - as well as that cup final goal against Liverpool. Talking of Fergies disposals surprised nobody has mentioned Beckham. |

Well it was the way you posted that caused an issue. Rather than commenting on it being the same you were saying "hang on" and it came across like you were taking issue with his lineup being the same or similar to yours.
I didn't say you have a hatred for other people's opinions, either, so I don't know where that question's coming from. |

I did watch his press confrence, (I also have it along with Sir Alex's last one along with Giggs' and LvG's on my Sky + still), and yes I was struggling to find a place for Rooney in my side if we got Pogba.
![]() Obviously you are perfectly entitled to want Rooney in midfield, I only commented because that won't be happening. |

Seems the trimming is about to begin. Apparently Blackett and Varela both going to be sold. Cant say im fussed. Blackett was never going to make it at the club and Varela, though having some talent, is probably going to be the same. He needs games and isnt going to get that at United.

Exactly why the sarcastic...."hang on....." then if there was no issue.
I at no stage had any issues with any team put forward. |

I really hope we're going to sign at least one more defender especially a RB, if Varela is leaving we're short on options in that position outside of Darmian.

You are basically asking someone to double check a post that is right in front of you. Why would you do that in any other way other than to try and either cause an argument or just to embarrass someone. To be honest had you asked me I'd have picked exactly the same line up as the 2 of you did. |

Valencia isn't a RB. Mourinho doesn't seem to like utility. If he doesn't accept Valencia as a RB, with him not actually being a RB, then he's not going to be considered a RB.
I can't see Mourinho being satisfied with just one actual RB. There'll be plenty of time to sign one. |

Could be Blinds saving grace that he can fill 3 different positions. I know Mourinho said he doesnt like utility players but you cant change the entire squad in one window.

I think Mourinho said a couple were handy when the squad is thin so I dont think he'll be quick to ditch Blind. In all honesty I thought his comments were aimed more at the players who were getting a game in unfamiliar positions more than anything else. More a sort of "If you aren't good enough where you are meant to play, you won't be playing at all" type of thing.

Batdude. They way you posted those comments did seem as if you were being condescending and argumentative.

Yeah I saw the video, it is his Eurosport gig, it is where he announced his intention to be England head coach.
I know where it's from, what does it matter? |

I don't think he'll bounce him in his first season but unless Rashford struggles to establish himself in his second season I think Rooney might struggle to get himself established as a regular starter. I think his best position now is dropping deep but Mourinho's said flat out that isn't happening.
