And again its the same as food critics. Its not what they taste. It's the knowledge of the grape, the region, the year, what works with what herbs in a meal or how long to let them breath before drinking.

The not-at-all tedious Pogba saga continues apace.

The Guardian are claiming that we offered a total package of £100m, which has been rejected by Juventus. They reckon that they're holding out for £100m up front, with £8m in add-ons.

Meanwhile, Raiola has responded to questions about him travelling to Manchester to broker the deal, by asserting that it's 'b*llsh*t'.

Brilliant.

Agreed. It's like people saying that Messi/Ronaldo etc are overrated. It's just nonsense that can't be taken seriously.

This puts any possible Pogba deal into some sort of perspective (financially at least):-

I admire your stamina if you don't find it tedious.

I fell asleep weeks ago!

As for what his agent said .... very apt he used that word cos most things that come out of agents is bullshit.

Soon we'll have people insisting they're bored of a 'transfer' saga they've not even heard of yet.

'You heard who we're linked with?'
-Who?
'Well apparently....
-OMG it's sooooooooo boring. God!! YAWN!!

It gets earlier and earlier. We're barely a fortnight after the Euros. Seems transfer deals have to be conducted with football fans with short attention spans in mind.

It's not the length of time involved, it's the daily updates that are tedious. 'Pogba wipes his arse whilst facing Manchester: Is it a sign?'

I understand that journalists have space to fill, and that there's not much going on, but how many times to you want to hear a new figure being touted for Pogba, when I suspect that both sides know pretty much what it'll take?

That said, I'm a huge sucker for it, especially during the close season and I completely admit to being a massive hypocrite by posting most of it on here.

There is nothing wrong with a nice juicy bit of gossip, it is better than not being linked to any players!!

If anything those two are under-rated, and will only truly be rated properly when they have retired, their stats are truly mind blowing.

If he is in your words amazing how can he be over rated?

Talk on Twitter that deal for Pogba was sorted today via French press.

I won't believe it until he's here and in three years time irritating for a move to Madrid, whilst holding a United shirt whilst Woodward stands next to him holding a copy of that morning's paper.

Came from L'equipe. Won't end the speculation since he'll still sign for us when he finishes his holidays but think it's now safe to say that we're going to sign him.

****ing brilliant summer so far for us.

Yeah sorry, I had not pressed refresh on this thread.

If it does happen, I wonder if perhaps his debut (if we are allowed to speculate on that) could be at Rooney's testimonial?

Staggering summer and amazing work from the Man Utd board and Woodward. If there is a single Man Utd fan complaining about anything right now they need to have a word with themselves!

Since the FA Cup final....

Appointed Jose Mourinho
New £30m centre back
German POTY signed
World class striker signed
Word Transfer Record Midfielder signed.

The dugout and the spine of the team addressed in spectacular fashion.

Enough to make us favourites for the title would you say?

We surely have to be up there now.

Yeah, not bad.

I'm not sure that it tops the Moyes/goose chases/Fellaini-for-more-than-his-release-clause summer, mind.

Halcyon days.

'Up there', for sure.

Actual favourites? Not for me. No guarantees that all of our moves will be successes, and it's a fair amount of change in one go.
