In fact, the work permit problems wasn't Beardsley, that was Bosnich.... Who we all forgot about in terms of re-signing. He was after Sealey. Forgot totally about that one.
Yeah. I think I might have confused myself there!

Think that you're getting a little mixed up, there. Beardsley's English. Why would he need a work permit to play for an English club?

He went to play in Canada, so he probably needed a permit for that, but it would have never stopped him playing for us.

Anyway, to answer the original question, it was Bosnich, apparently.
We'd signed him from the White Caps, and he returned not six months later. Was about to post a wrong time fact of his stay in Vancouver for his second spell, but checked on Wiki first. However, I'd no idea that it was Jimmy Murphy who had told Atkinson to sign Beardsley, not a bad talent spotter that, probably one of the last players he recommended to the club I guess.

Wow, I didn't know that about Jimmy, that is remarkable really, he really did have an eye for untapped talent!

On a separate topic, a question for those more knowledge then myself, was Mark Hughes the last person that we re-signed??

So, if or when this Pogba deal goes through, he would be the first since Sparky, would that be correct?

Fairly certain you knew the answer before you asked the inaccurate question to be honest.
I was not 100% certain, hence why I wanted to ask here, amongst the more knowledgeable people, I am not in the habit of asking questions that I already for certain know the answer to.

Hardly busted, I didn't realise that I had previously posted that particular question before, but thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I cannot remember every single post that I have made here on DS, especially those going back a few years.

(thanks to Squawka news on twitter).

What if Batty hadn't seen the club's original tweet, which they subsequently deleted and had to re post as they made a mess of the substitutes? Thus the use of another source.

Yeah, the place where I copied it from was the first tweet I saw with the team news, and I thought that I had better credit them, as that is where I got it from.

Sorry for any confusion.

To avoid any confusion, the Original source was the person in the press office who typed out the team sheet and then posted it on twitter..

A source isn't the place you heard the news from.

For example if @LancasterTiger996 tweeted that Cameron had resigned following the EU referendum, the source for Cameron resigning isn't @LancasterTiger996.

You don't hear news organisations announce 'Mick tells us there's been an explosion in Cairo'.

Besides line-ups are announced they don't need citations, it's not sourced information it's shared information widely distributed, which doesn't require acknowledgement. Else every goal we see scored on TV we might as well say "According to BT Sport, Chelsea have taken the lead" or "It's half time (via MUTV)"

Just seemed a really odd thing to do.

So it seems that Sneijder is playing for Galatasary, I wonder if he will swap shirts with anyone, and we will finally get to see him in a United shirt, after all of these links with us!

Take a look at @Galatasaray's Tweet: https://twitter.com/Galatasaray/stat...035793408?s=09

Surely the original source is the manager who picked the team in the first place?

His wife might have been the original source, in bed the night before, pointing out he hadn't chosen a goalkeeper.

I don't want to get you too excited, but there was something on SSN about him and Depay being big mates.

So, if Depay gets on, then they might swap shirts. Or maybe they'll do it even if he doesn't come on? It's certainly something to look out for!

Its a classic busted. You were asking a question you have already asked previously and even answered for yourself in the same question yet you decide to post the exact same question once more and feign ignorance as to the answer.

Seriously, if you cant remember that type of thing then its a clear sign you are posting too much.

Rooney is once more showing why he doesn't deserve to be in our squad.

He doesn't usually play better though, he's been at a low level for a year or two now.

Maybe give the guy more than 18 mins into his first match of pre season to start slagging him off though eh?
