If Fellaini starts tomorrow I think I will have to get more alcohol in to get through the game.
Schweinsteiger should start with Herrera. If Schweinsteiger is on a yellow at half time then swap him for Schneiderlin or Carrick. He needs to go for it, not be playing two DMs. But you know....obviously he will need to save a substitution for that all inportant full back swap on 80 mins.... |

As if anyone needed confirmation about how the club treats us fans, I've just received this email about my membership. Quote:
In a recent survey, 85% of Official Members told us they would like the option to renew their Membership without having to do anything. As a result of this feedback, we are pleased to inform you that for the 2016/17 season we have introduced such a process. Opt out? Opt out? It's theft FFS!!!
What to do next The cost of your 2016/17 Membership will be £32, and to renew, you don't need to do anything, we will debit the card you used to pay for this season's Membership on or shortly after Wednesday 1st June 2016 (card expiry date Sep-17*). |

Not a chance Schweinsteiger would last more than about an hour. I'd still start him over Fellaini though.
Van Gaal won't, obviously. |

I know Schweinsteiger is half a yard off the pace sometimes, but we got overrun in the middle last time and we need someone with a rocket up his behind pressing and hassling. Unfortunately both he and Fellaini are prone to yellows, especially in Europe. We have to hope they can get to half time with a clean slate. |

I'd play the reserves.
If we beat City at the weekend (possible now they're without their decent defenders) we're one point behind them in the league with 8 to play. Even if we were to pull off a miracle comeback and beat Liverpool, we'll just be dumped out in the next round anyway. Go for the league and FA Cup, Louis. |

While I understand that point of view, I simply wouldn't concede any tie against Liverpool. There is pride at stake here.
If we get an early goal (our speciality, obvs), then we might have a sniff. Wouldn't bank on it, mind. |

Early goal and LIverpool getting a man sent off inside the first quarter of an hour. Then we might have a slight chance

There's nothing to be proud of, at the moment.

There are always new lows for us, and getting knocked out by Liverpool would be the lowest point of our dour season imo. Certainly not expecting anything, but I want us to show some heart, and attack. I'd drop Blind too for this one and stick Rojo in with Smalling. |

We've been doing exactly that, for weeks. |

And play who, at left-back? Borthwick-Jackson? Is he fit?
Blind was all over the place and his lack of pace is a real issue if they press us high up the pitch again. |

I don't think so but I'd even play Fosu Mensah or Riley. Blind needs a rest and Rojo is stronger and pacey.
Blind was all over the place and his lack of pace is a real issue if they press us high up the pitch again. Why not just switch him and Rojo? Liverpool don't really play with blistering wingers, and Blind can pick a killer pass. I'm not sure that someone who maxes out at 3.5mph can really 'need a rest'. |

Yeah, he was dreadful, in the first leg.

I'd actually put Blind on as DM (where I think he can be more useful) if we have a problem in that area as the game goes on. I just think it's worth the risk in this game. |

Normally that's what I would do, and there is of course an argument for "experience" in a crunch game, but I think we should shove on one of the pacey kids at LB. They can attack and hopefully cause more problems. It's worth the risk.

Blind is usually one of our better players and, unless he's knackered, I don't really see the benefit in him not playing. He was shocking last week, but then, who wasn't? |

It's a fair argument, but I disagree.

I think I'd just prefer some pace in the side. Like Scholes said last week, our tempo was so shockingly bad that it was debatable whether the team knew what game they were in. I actually like Blind as a DM in front of the defence. Calm and assertive, but with good passing ability. Carrick is getting less and less effective in that area so I think maybe they can be rotated a bit more, but hey who am I trying to kid. The injuries are a nightmare at the moment! |

Really wouldn't mind Blind being given a rest. He seems to have played every match this year, even at his pace that has to take its toll. |

Opt out? Opt out? It's theft FFS!!! If you have any form of insurance it's 99% likely to be exactly the same too. Auto-renewal/opt-out schemes are pretty much standard in all membership/subscription services now. It's how Netflix works too. Stop pretending to be outraged. |

It's how Netflix works too. Stop pretending to be outraged. You shouldn't have to purposefully opt out. But then this is from the same commercial cretins who formed the Automatic Cup Scheme. No pretence of outrage here at all. |
