Just out of interest, if Ibra in your mind is not a top striker, then who would you class as being so?

(Sorry that was aimed at edy)

Thoughts on the first game : the team shows promise but I was not that impressed; there also seems to be a disconnect between the players imo. I just dont get the feeling that they are on the same wavelength on that pitcch; this is why I am glad that they are pre-season games because hopefully this will be sorted out before the season starts
.
I think that with this Pogba signing, things might change for the better. You guys still dont have a top striker though...I mean Ibra is good but eh.... Mou looked bored the whole game as well

Oh well, I am interested to see how the game on Sunday goes.”

Don't you support Real Madrid?

I haven't seen many United fans making any assumptions based on some pre-season kickabouts.

Still no updates on Pogba, hopefully some news soon, as Jose I think likes his players to play to a certain system, and since Pogba has not played any pre-season games with us, it might be a bit of a push to see him featuring in our first match of the season, which would be disappointing.

What percentage do Man Utd get from shirt sales from addidas?.

IF Pogba sings for Man Utd, is it the club that prints and gets all revenue from adding names onto team tops supporters buy.

On other MU forums I have seen that.

Just checking.

Rojo has turned down a move to China, 'according to Sky sources'. Wants to stay.

The transfer window in China closed about 2 weeks ago now, so any move there would be later in the year now anyway, so he'd be sticking around anyway. I don't mind Rojo as a back up player, but as we got rid of better last year you do question why he's still here.

Yeah I think it is just a tad bit of lazy and inaccurate journalism there, linking him to a move to China at this stage, seeing as their window, as you rightly say, closed a few weeks ago.

Keep him as backup, play him in the early rounds of the cups, but not really in any important matches though.

Jim said that he has turned down a move to China. Not yesterday or in the past 2 weeks necessarily - it might have been over the summer. The article just says 'has turned down'.

It was several weeks ago. In addition, Phil Jones was set to go to Hull on loan but Bruce leaving them has put an end to that one, for now at least.

Fair enough, my error then.

Unless we are, or were prepared to give one of the younger centre backs a go, it would have been a bit if a risk to have let Jones go would it have not??

Yeah, wasn't happy about Rafael going tbh.

At first I thought that sounded a bit strange, if you sent him out on loan then that'd be the end of him as a Man United player..

And that may well have been the case, but having said that, it could also have been a fitness thing. The rumours seem to have died down now, but Liverpool were going to send Jon Flanagan on loan to Burnley, to get him back up to fitness, with us not willing to wait with him in the team. Gets them back to fitness and lets the manager see if they can still cut it or if they'll just break again.

I suppose a loan until January could work, but really if he goes on loan it doesn't look good for his future at the club.

It's costing us a lot of money to replace him isn't? £100m to buy Pogba, when we obviously had a better midfielder already in our squad.

I really liked Rafael, such a shame that he was not given a bit longer here, his goal away at Anfield will always be a special one!

Mourinho pretty much confirmed at his press conference that Schweinsteiger isn't part of his plans.

Off to the States for Scheweinsteiger? Seems like the sort of bloke - based on nothing - who may be willing to take a pay cut and perhaps stick in the premier league if another club wanted him

on here in peace as a non Utd fan.
I hope Schweinsteiger finds a decent club. He was good in the Euros recently as German captain and midfield anchor and is a class act as a player and it seems, as a person.
Plus he has a great name.

I'd be surprised to see him go to the States already. He started this summer anticipating a season with Manchester United, so doesn't think he's ready for pipe and slippers just yet.

I reckon he'll stay in England, moving to a London club.

Wasn't he supposed to have had a medical whilst he was on holiday? So many different stories, once it's over and done with the better. He's been told to report to training by Juve, on Monday along with all the others who hadn't returned just yet.

Interesting interview with Jose on that page, more so in relation to Mata. The rest of it we already knew.

This Pogba saga surpasses any other long winded transfer ever. I can look back at the Schneider one with fondness after this.

Does it? I know it has dragged on a bit but it's still looking likely to be resolved a couple of weeks before the end of the transfer window. A saga like Sneijder's went on for longer and had even more daily speculation than this one, while De Gea's last season disrupted our first few league games.
